Mercedes AMG C43

'Mercedes AMG C43'

Saw one of these today for the first time, was nice but obviously no where near as the C63.

Apparently prices start at £44,000. What do we all think?

Ordered a coupe last week.....thats what I think!

Was the sweet spot for me....on the road driving, not that much in it between this and the 63 power wise. Not until your into 3 figures (from watching you tube )
Obviously 4 wheel drive, so very different in terms of cornering and side out action.

Interiors pretty much identical and in my opinion much nicer / quality than the M4's though I do love the M4 CP seats.

I'm sure others will disagree, but really was the one for me after looking at the C63, M4 CP and C43.......I was sooooo close to ordering the 63.

ETTO. I liked them so ordered them.....didnt want the ballache of cleaning the multispokes and the typical 5 spokes are only available in 18's.

Choice of only the 3 on the coupe (think its the same on the saloon?)

Not a big fan of the saloon. Estate looks much better and coupe better still.

Followed a new c63s coupe, looked impressive from behind, very purposeful. Didn't hear it under load so can't comment on that, but i did have a few years old c63 saloon next to me later that day. He gave it the beans and that still sounds awesome.

C43 too narrow hipped doesn't get the wider tracks and different subframe/suspension of the C63 coupe, then again neither does the saloon/estate C63.

Can't get on with the looks other than the C63 coupe even then the M4 is prettier and better balanced to my eyes.

But that's all subjective, I'm sure they are cracking cars in either 43 or 63 flavour.

I think BMW should do an M340i/M440i to compete.

From the outside, looks ok - but imo the sat nav screen looks a bit like someone forgot to include it when designing the interior and thought we will stick it to the dash!

I like the fact Mercedes have gone for more curvy cars, but to me their stance is just too high.

Saw a Boggo diesel coupe yesterday looked cheap and nasty outside, skinny wheels etc. sure the 43 looks better in the flesh.

Really like the C43 coupe. Not a fan of the shape of their saloons to be honest. The screen inside is definitely a negative but other than that I really do like them. You can even spec carbon parts on the dash! I thought that was pretty cool considering it's not the all out AMG version.

They do seem a touch pricey at the moment. Possibly because they're so new. Will be interesting to see what discounts are like in 12-24 months time.

I hope BMW do a M440i.

I like them, prefer the way the estate looks personally over the saloon/coupe.

I do really like them wheels in the top picture (mainly because they are spec'ed on my car) but the bottom ones look better in real life.

I used to agree about the wheels but having had a SLK 55 with the multi spokes they are a pain to clean.

More than that though it used to be only AMGs that had these wheels but now any Merc can spec them so they are no longer special.

The 5 multi-spoke are only available on AMGs

I have ordered a C43 and had to think long and hard about the wheels and decided for the above reasons which ones to get

Nice cars and sound a bit better than a 340 but there seem to be a lot more c class than lci 3 series where I am.
I would certainly like a c63 mind you.

Apparently the F36 4er GC will get an M440i come LCI time, but the 3 Series will have to wait until the G20 is launched in 2018.

And that is why I never went near them, even when I have a mate who works for the main UK dealer in Brentford.

He does like the new 430D that I bought

If that's true I can see myself ordering one come time to change. I'd love to hear a 40i with an M Performance exhaust on though. They sound pretty decent in videos but you can never tell what they're really like in a video.

I'm assuming they'd do the same with the F32 as well if they're doing the F36?

I keep seeing this written - but have you tried it?? Son in law has a GLC whilst he waits for his F Pace to come, and I was of the same opinion until I sat in the car when it just "works"....

C43 Convertible now on my list of possibles for new year - because of the dash not in spite of!

Apparently it's true, but it is the internet, so you never know. Maybe it comes slightly after the LCI, because I haven't seen any test cars which look like a possible M440i.

I haven't heard anything about the F32 getting an M440i, but it would make sense.

EDIT: Just checked and the most reliable person on this forum for future models doesn't mention it, so now I'm not sure.

http://www.7post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=901686

The person who mentioned the M440i GC (F36) is @Scott26 and he has zero credibility after the G30 5 Series debacle in July.
