M Performance Grille - or is it...?
I like the look of the black M performance grille and think it'll look good on a white car.
I am pretty hands on and hate to pay for things that i can do myself. I decided to create the m performance look myself and managed to do it for £8.99! I did not want to spray the grille as it is a company car. It had to be removable. I know someone on here had their grille 'wrapped' in matt black. I found a guy who sells matt black wrap on line. I bought 1m x 1.5m (to allow for mistakes (but didn't make any!) for £8.99 delivered. I could have done 2 sets of grilles with the amount of wrap i had, so technically it only cost £4.50... I set about wrapping the grille. Getting them off the car was pretty straight forward. In total, it only took about 1.5 hours. The first one took longer than the second and i am very happy with the result, both in terms of the way it makes the car look and the fact it cost next to nothing to do.. Before: After:

You then need to separate the black slats part from the chrome. Quite simple, just need to take care. You will then be left with this piece... Applying the wrap is fairly tricky. You need to use a hair dryer to soften the wrap. It also becomes quite stretchy when it is warm which helps. I just laid the chrome part on top of the wrap and stuck it to the outer area, ignoring the centre section. Once i was happy with the outer rim i then heated the centre section, cut a hole in the middle and then stretched it to cover the inner rim. If you take care and do not rush it then it is not too difficult. The hardest part for me was not burning my fingers with the hair dryer!

very nice think I might do that too, just need to find the wrap stuff, its the only bit of the taxi that's chrome, while I was in there ive made up some proper grills to keep the stones and rubbish out, bmw grills don't stop anything the holes are way too big, this is the damage to my intercooler after 3000 mile
round here with the crap roads breaking up and hector the farmer scattering half his field on the road,a stone in the wrong place could be expensive here is the intercooler grill ive made up, fitted behind the existing one and squeezed behind the rubber seals, this is the first trial fit needs to come out and be painted, then im going to make some for behind the kidney grills

Good stuff mate, looks like you have done a good job in the wrapping.
I did this to my 46' and it worked well. I've gone for the Performance ones, just fitted them and they look great. I really despise Chrome and it's the first thing that goes.
