I stopped by our local pizza spot tonight, which I do every week. I generally park in the same spot, but it was occupied tonight. I ultimately parked with the driver side against a curb, which left approximately two feet between the passenger door and the first of a double line.

As I am conversing with the owner and the staff, an older model car zips through the parking lot, catching our attention. She parks over both lines, flips her door open without a care in the world and hits my passenger door. Both of the gentlemen that I was speaking with said "did she just hit your car?" We watch as a hippie woman and an 80's glam rock man get out of the car. They look at my door and then walk into the restaurant next door.

I absolutely despise inconsiderate people. Luckily, there was only a small spec on the door handle, so I didn't mention anything to the couple.

Happy Friday F3x Land.
yep happened to me couple times

I hate these people.I had a very bad experience in a parking lot.
We went to a Indian restaurant for lunch, I come back to see there is a crease extending from the rear door to rear fender.

There was some paint loss and the dent was pretty deep.

There were no surveillance cams or anyone parking next to my car. The estimate to get it fixed at a body shop was $2800. I did not get it fixed yet, its been few months.
I am scared of this going into carfax since I will use insurance.

Doesn't matter what car you drive, this is completely inconsiderate. Don't feel too bad man, I street park in NYC. Out of 22 years of driving, one of them has been in NYC. Out of all 5 claims I've made to my insurance company over those 22 years, all 5 were this past year in NYC.

Oh man, this topic. I can't even.

But hypothetically... if somebody put a full on smash into your door, and they were a total asshole, as embarrassing as it might be, are you in your right to call the cops to file a report and make them pay for the damage? Or is it just too small an incident and the cops gonna basically laugh and never show up? Like one person said, this could be over a grand in damage, and even if its less, it's not just the money, but the point of the matter (especially if they have an attitude). Maybe these bastards will start to learn a lesson when it's costing THEM money.

All we can do is park as far as possible....so far that people will think twice about walking that far lol
Well, I'm sure that will change when they return to their car and their side view mirrors are no longer attached to their car.

This week at the courthouse, a woman in a Ford F250 backed into my friend's Camaro SS and put her trailer hitch through the grille. It happened over the noon hour, so there was a crowd gathered around the taco truck parked nearby, including several prosecutors and cops.

A young sheriff's deputy was walking toward the truck and said it looked like she was thinking about making a run for it until he made eye contact.

Dude, get some counseling for those rage issues! In the long run, it will be cheaper than the criminal charges.

Deliberately damaging someone's property is vandalism. In California, if the damage is over $400, you can be charged with a felony that carries up to three years in custody and a $10,000 fine. The judge can also suspend your drivers license for up to two years.

PROTIP: Don't post the specific details of a crime you've committed on the Internet. I'm sure Bimmerpost wouldn't want to spend the time and money to fight a subpoena for your IP address.

Mommy would probably be a lot more upset over bailing you out of jail and hiring a lawyer than getting a paint chip on her car.

I fucking hate inconsiderate people. I'm so OCD about it that I perform a walk-around every time I return to my vehicle.

Finding that "far away" spot in LA is hard... but I try to find it anyways. Guess what always happens? Some old jalopey ends up parking next to my car anyways. I've already had to do a paintless dent removal on the passenger side... won't be long before I have to do it again I'm sure.

Why would Bimmerpost fight a subpoena for someone who knowingly and willingly committed a car enthusiast's worst nightmare?

They obviously do that to mess with you. Had it happen to me with my Vette a few times. Now I just park it not too close or too far, as to not draw attention. People just suck sometimes.

There was a brand new F30 parked at the grocer yesterday. She parked in a compact spot, diagonal and over two lines.

A) she should not have been in a compact space.
B) it would have taken her 20 seconds to straighten out her car.

It's going to happen just the same as a truck in front of you kicks up a rock that dings your hood or windshield. Accept it and get over it, and do not do something stupid like confront the wrong person or damage another car. The consequences of that could be a lot worse. Know that these kind of people go through life doing these kind of things, eventually they do it to the wrong person who kicks the sh!t out of them just for fun. In the long run they do more damage to themselves. No matter what you do, your car is going to age and one day you will replace it, get over it, go on with your day, enjoy your dinner or wherever you were headed when this happened.

OMG I would have kicked her door so hard it would create a 3 foot wide crater and proceeded to tell her that her damage is prorated. I have no mercy for pond scum who think nothing of other people's property.

Hard to do nothing in a situation like this though. On another note I just got back from Hawaii, visited Maui for a week and Oahu for a week. Absolutely the best place in the world to vacation and hopefully live.

Waikiki beach, 'O Ku'u Aloha No 'Oe!

When that happens to me they get a large foot print as a surprise on their door - Some times I stay around to watch their surprised face.

So what you're saying is, you'd place a nice lei on the car...THEN kick the 3 ft wide crater in the door.
