Painting Lower Grilles / Protection

I recently painted my new kidney grilles (like I did with the older ones). Outer BSM to match car color and inner slats the same blackish grey color as the OEM M3/M4.

After it was done, the lower Grilles just stand out as desperately needing painting.

Unfortunately, these are made of a sort of rubbery plastic (I imagine because of road debris nicks) and just would not hold paint well. And then there would be the debris chipping the paint.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to paint properly and protect?

I'm not near my car but is the material similar to side blades or front lip? I know IND paints those all the time though prep on that lattice would be a bitch. Might be worth asking Cat if they have any ideas.

This is exactly what has kept me from getting replacing the kidney grills. I personally am not a fan of them being gloss and the lower grills flat. Maybe paint the kidney grills flat instead? Would be curious if that would like right...

I've just painted my lower grills high gloss black. I've used 2 component spray paint, I figure that will hold up pretty well for a long time.

Difference is subtle for now, but I'm sure it will be more pronounced when it is sunny.

Why? In what way?
I also think PlastiDip is one (easy) way to go.

I wouldn't paint them though, just give them some love with suitable detailing products to make them darker and slightly shinier (according to own preference, I personally don't like them glossy)

I've tried ceramic plastic trim restorer and that was okay. It was hard to apply on the grills because of the shape. Painting the grills gloss black looks nice. However, the painted brake ducts are indeed too much glossy. If I'd redo it I don't think I would paint the brake ducts anymore.

I've heard that standard ceramic coatings will make faded plastic look new again. Should give it a deeper black look.
