Canadian MY2016 435i issue, anyone?
Canadian version of MY2016 435i, I find few option issues.
1. no lumbar support!!! used to be in premium package, but not this year. and you can NOT order it as an option. It is an option on 428i as $300 option 2. No connected drive! it used to be a $500 connected drive pro package. But MY16 have 7s9 in premium enhanced. BUT not bmw online/app, RTTI. I do order premium enhanced package and have connected drive logo on the front windshield. But seem like that is the only thing about connected drive in my car. I don't have BMW Online, BMW App, Internet under connected drive menu. No Traffic INFO in NAV. (I did switch to grey map to have more contrast so i can see any traffic, but nothing.) Dealer told me today, that he checked few MY16 435i, all like mine, no connected drive!! You gotta be kidding me BMW!!! :thumb down Anyone in Canada experienced these 2 issues? I have the ordering guide dealer sent me few months ago when i ordered my car. I also have the options list on mybmw canada website about my car in attachment What should I do then? I will take my car back to dealership next Wednesday but not sure what they can do about it, coding? |

Pretty disappointed in BMW. I expect more from them...my lumbar feels uncomfortable in these seats and no connected drive... Should have order a m3 which still have $500 connected drive pro pkg and lumbar support as standard..

1. Lumbar Support: 488 is an option but it has to be ordered separately. I did this on my replacement 2016 435i xDrive Gran Coupé (2015 435i xDrive Gran Coupé was recalled). I notice that it is not listed as an option for the 435i, which makes no sense, so I suspect that is a mistake in the pricing guide. Car will go into production Week 44, 2015.
2. When I picked up my 2015 in April, the ConnectedDrive Services Professional w/ARTTI (ZTO) was missing even though it was listed as a package on our car. I returned the car to the dealer and it was added. This may be the issue with your 2016. My dealer has assured me it is included in the Premium Package Enhanced (Z4D)...so request that your dealer install it. I certainly will if our car arrives in December without it. It makes no sense that BMW Canada would remove BMW Online (6AK), ARTTI (6AM), Concierge Services (6AN), Remote Services (6AP)and Internet (6AR...this option is missing from your build, so perhaps BMW Canada decided to remove it) from MY2016. That is my best hunch...I wonder if it is a dealer installed option that depends on the country and BMW AG simply installs the base package. If so, some dealer's forget to install it, or haven't been informed that it is necessary when prepping for delivery. With our 2015 it was a software installation and all was fine after that.

Yup...you have the latest NAV and it does give OTA updates. I'm quite sure the problem can be rectified and you'll be a before long.

The system should update over the next while...it is not instantaneous and depends also on when BMW uploads an update for your area. For example, if you were driving around New York State for a few weeks, an update might download for that region. The system does not update the entire NAV map at once (that would involve a very large download), only the area the car is driving in as indicated by the GPS. If a region does not need an update, nothing will happen while you are driving in that region.
