When I took my car (2012 328i) out today, I heard a very unusual and loud sound coming from my exhaust. The sound is just noisy... It gets louder when I push harder on the gas. It feels like something was broken, so I turned my car around and drove home.

Anyone know what's wrong with it?

Did you unknowingly install the M Performance exhaust?

Seriously though, I think we'll need a bit more info of what the noise sounds like. Could be anything...

Nevermind, it's not an exhaust problem. There was a nail in my tire and I think that's what caused the weird loud noise... I pulled the nail out and the noise was gone. It's strange how a punctured tire can cause such a disturbing sound...

Now I need to patch my tire. Can you patch a run flat tire or do I need a new one?

You can patch a run-flat tire as long as you bring it in with air inside (that's what my dealer does). If you drove on a "flat" run-flat, then it needs to be replaced.

Some people will tell you that it's not possible to patch a run-flat but it's a myth.
