1 step process via voice command to have text messages read out loud?

I know I can go through the multiple step voice command process to have idrive read my text messages out loud. However I find having to go through multiple separate voice commands tedious. Is there a single voice command I can give to have just received text messages read? For example, "read new message"

As it now these are the separate voice commands I have to give:
Messages
[Choose number of message I am interested in]
[Confirm number selected]
Play

unfortunately i dont think there is a voice command for what you're looking for.

the voice command mimics what you can select on the iDrive. so if the option doesnt appear on iDrve, then chances are it might not have a voice function

Thank you! In that case its easier to just look at my phone instead of having a conversation with my car! LOL!

Your best bet is by using a voice assistant on Android. What launches when you do a long press of the voice button in the car? (For iPhone, that starts Siri and you can have her read your messages) Does the button work with SVoice or one of the other assistant apps?

I have my messages listing as one of the 1-8 buttons. This way I just hit that button and then read/play the message I want.

Very simple, yet effective solution. People don't use those buttons enough...me included.

Sorry, maybe I was a bit unclear and perhaps misleading.

I hotkey my messages list. Go to Telephone (or maybe it's Office?) > Messages/Email. Highlight over Messages/Email and don't hit enter. Instead, assign this to one of your keys (1-8 by pressing and holding the desired number).

This way, when you hit that number it just goes directly to your message/email listing without going through all the iDrive menus.
