USB Issues With Large No. Files
Hi,
I wonder if you had similar issue, and have you resolved it? I got Samsung 256GB USB 3.1 pen drive. I tested it on FAT32 and exFAT with 1nr album on it and it works fine, but when I copied all 300 something albums (filled whole 240GB) car doesn't recognise it. PS I don't want to import anything (I know internal HDD is only 20GB). My patience run out after 15mins of waiting (in case it took long time to read so many files). I tried it on BMW 430i GT year 2017 (with original software and the latest updated). Last edited by krose; 06-13-2020 at 11:45 AM.. |

I'm sure I read a thread here before where somebody had similar. In that case the person had a USB portable drive, filled it with songs and some weren't being listed.
Things you could try is maybe creating a playlist or multiple playists and see if all the songs can be accessed via the playlists or start deleting an album at a time to see when it is happy, this will then give you a rough idea of track numbers or max space that can be used? |

One piece of advice as a test is to take them out of the root and place them in a subfolder named "music" some player software can have issues with a large number of files or folders in the root of a drive.
