It's the interior I find lacking. It's all over the place and incoherent. Whereas the Audi design is smooth and inviting, the BMW design is completely outta control. The dash looks like something Ford might design. I have to admit, my conservative E90 dash suddenly looks much more appealing: it's clean, ergonomic, and inoffensive. I guess that's what it's lacking: cleanliness.

All BMW needed to do was take the E90 dash, clean it up a bit and tilt it more towards the driver. Why they went all nuts is beyond me. And to top it off, the configurator doesn't allow one to order gloss black and black trim - you have to get the red trip with the gloss black. lame.

Anyway, I just figured I'd share my opinion.
A dash that Ford may design? What current Ford vehicle even remotely looks like that or with what material? I'm not the biggest fan of the interior but comparing it to Ford is a tough sell, even if Ford has greatly improved them.

I just mean in terms of 'look at me' style. Not materials.

the orange trims is an easy fix, It can be removed and vinyl
bmw already have carbon fiber for those piece

the only thiing that bothers me is the exposed front kidney grills, black grills will improve the looks but I'm still shocked that bmw came up with this stupid idea

I with they made the interior mimic that of a 5-series. I love that interior.

I checked out all 3 lines at the detroit show this past weekend. I think they all looked good to cater to the various market segments however what I don't like is the nav screen. It's the elephant in the room, has not flow with the dash what so ever. I hope they fix that on the coupe or it will be a major deal breaker for me in getting the f32.

How's the headroom in the new F30?

According to specs, it's got 1.8 inches of more headroom than the E90. Just wondering if it's noticeable.

Don't let a 500$ set of trims ruin your experience on a 45K$ car!

Gotta agree with this big time. I compare it as a stark opposite to the X3 nav. The integration of the Nav into the dash of the new X3 is simply beautiful, whereas this new 3 series just looks too over the top. The rest of the interior looks fantastic though IMO.
