435i GC RWD faster than Coupe

I have read it all over these forums that due to weight, the 435i coupe is a bit faster than the GC.

Does anyone else find it curious that BMWUSA officially lists the 435 GC RWD to be a tenth of a second faster than the 435 Coupe RWD?

Chalk another one up for the GC?

Not. 4.4 and 13.0 for Couoe. Per zerotosixty.com who I think is more accurate

But they don't have a time for the GC.

Why would BMW officially rate the GC faster than the coupe? That would seem like a pretty strange thing to be wrong about.

2014 428 coupe vs gran Coupe.

5.2 and 13.8 vs 5.6 and 14.2. (2014 v 2015.)

Coupe is faster. Also lighter by +100 lbs.

The extra door weight at the back probably lends itself to better traction off the line, that's all. I would expect the coupe to have better 'in use' acceleration, e.g. 50-70mph because it is definitely lighter.

We're discussing the 435. Also just to note, BMW rates the 435i GC xdrive at 4.7 seconds.

Everyone please cite your sources, otherwise its not really helpful.

I know we are discussing 435 but stands to reason that if the 428 coupe is faster than the 428 gran coupe the same is true with the 435. And I stated the source.

While interesting, a tenth of a second makes absolutely no difference in real world driving.

This is true, but it is good for a consumer to know that the GC is likely not going to be, at all a noticeably "slower" model.

I think there's a mistake on the BMW USA site.
I checked the Swiss one (where they give the 0-62):
CG: Accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en s : 5.5 [5.2]
Coupe: Accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en s : 5.4 [5.1]

So no...the GC is not faster than the Coupe :|

Perhaps DTP1980 is onto something which could account for the difference between 60 and 62?

Oh, now I get it...
The European version of the GC is detuned for marketing purposes.
