The upgraded Turbos are really awesome on these cars, regardless of PWG or EWG.

i'm very tempted to jump from PB stg1, right to BM3...

bet the difference is night and day...just in terms of delivery...not to mention area under curve...

safe to assume a upgraded DP is pretty much mandatory on a PWG car...?

Just read through this thread, so is the consensus that a pwg car only really makes power if running e85 mixtures on a piggyback tune?
I have a 13 335xi with pwg, catless dp and jb4 on map 5 and it feels slow sometimes. I drove a brand new 18 340i stock with mppk and mpe seemed faster even though my car should be making like 400hp and 400tq.
Do I need to find ethanol to mix and hook up the flex fuel wires to feel a bigger difference?
Does anyone have a link to dyno or 1/4mile time comparisons of a jb4 n55 car on pump gas versus an e85 mix, I can't seem to find anything on the google machine.

max can be done with pwg turbo is 360-380hp with a proper flash tune depending on mods, so your car doesn't have 400hp for sure. 340i with mppk should have 360hp but it has near 400hp, so yes its faster for sure. stock 340 (without mppk) has also more hp than advertised but is a bit slower than proper flash tuned pwg 335i.

I wasn't talking whp, crank hp with jb4 and dp should be around 400/400 at the crank or no?

Really? Even if not running any e85?
I am on 94 octane pump gas (with 10% ethanol content), can anyone confirm if i need to connect this?

You don't need to unless you run e85. It's optional. I had jb4 and had it off and on and logged and there was no difference (94 octane)

Thanks, there is so much misinformation out there about this stuff it is mind boggling. Everything seems so cryptic and subjective about the jb4 and tuning and logs and codes and just everything for some reason. Really miss my e46 m3 sometimes.
Seems like the only way to make consistent smooth power with pwg and jb4 is to run e85, wish I would have known that before buying it since there are no e85 stations here.
I do know of a place that manufactures 100% ethanol, I wonder if they sell it to people and if so can I use it?

If you want efficient power on pump gas, grab a pure stage 2, if budget doesn't allow, pure stage 1 would put you just about equal to EWG.

why it should be ? stock is 306hp (not wheel but _crank_ hp as every manufacturer specifies crank hp only) so you think after just adding jb4 you have extra 100hp? are you sure?

Actually these cars dyno'd stock in 2012 with over 320hp.
Gains are claimed at around 80hp with a downpipe and map 2 so..... ya bud.

Yeah normally pwg dynos around 260ish. JB4 will max out at 330whp on pump. To hit anywhere upwards of 340+whp you'll need e85 and meth.

EWG can do 360+whp on pump gas, no meth.

For all these years, it has been really difficult to find someone get the numbers spot on like this.

I thought all PWG stock turbo modders think their car put down 400 on wheel on ethanol. LOL.

Well I got to experience the disappointment of 330whp on pump

Literally was so disappointed when my buddy with a stock 435i gapped me when I was FBO on 91 oct hahaha.

No more disappointment with PS2 though

I have seen dyno threads on here that were 400whp on e40 blends with pwg, so is the difference the ethanol? Why I am yet to find is a comparison of 93 octane pump gas jb4 dp map2/5 versus e40 jb4 map2/5, like does e40 make an additional 40-50 whp???

All you need to see is the stock number for benchmark. If it is higher than 260ish (335 435 PWG), probably you only will want to know before and after delta.

Some very early 435i came with PWG. It was VERY rare, and if you were one of the unlucky few

The reason u find lack of data is because everyone thinks they're making what the other person is making , i mean most.

I'm sure that's part of it, I'm just wondering if the effort is worth to track down pure ethanol to run an e40 mix since I don't have e85 gas stations here. If someone had a dyno showing a 10hp increase I think I would save myself the hassle.
