Preventing carpet floor mats being damaged from heel twisting

For those who have carpet floor mats, how are you keeping it in top notch condition?

My previous floor mats has been butchered from the twist motion from the heel of my shoe, specially work shoes with hard soles/heels.

I’ve looked around and it seems heel pads are the solution?

Get All-Weather rubber floor mats and problem solved.

Not a big fan of rubber floor mats. Plus, we don't get alot of rain and mud, so carpets don't get dirty much so rubber is a bit overkill.

I agree. Rubber mats actually get dirty much easily. I have not had any problems with heels, but when the carpeted mats do get worn out I just replace them with a new set (every other year or so).

The carpet mats that came with our 2016 X6 look kind of cheap. I ordered some liners and rubber mats since Seattle tends to get some rain but while I didn't, was tempted to get these although they are a little spendy.

Nice - like those mats.

The carpets that came with the vehicle feels really nice. I might just replace them when they're worn out...

I use my Bissel steam cleaner on my car mats every few months. I pick a sunny day so I can give them a good cleaning and then let them dry in the sun. I find this helps as I can see where my heal is pushing the carpet flat but the steam cleaner seems to pull them up and make them spring back to life. It certainly will not prevent this from happening but seems to really minimize it.

It's unavoidable, especially if you have a 6MT. Luckily the OEM ones are cheap as hell (not pricewise) so they need to be replaced relatively quickly. I'm really liking those cocos you guys are showing. If they have them with some MSport blue in them, I may pick some up.

I wonder if the E90 mats would fit our cars, I think they might.

Back then when BMW wasn't as cheap the carpet was padded there to prevent this.
