Just done a search in Google and it appears a few other car forums are reporting it is back on new Google maps.
Not sure why you guys are not seeing it. Are you logged into Google?

I gave enabled it on my laptop but it doesn't seem to work, in that it says it has sent it to my car but it doesn't arrive.

You have to set up your car in your profile for it to show in the google maps view. The BMW remote app works fine tho.

No, I did it from a PC using a Firefox web browser.

I've just checked my car and two messages have appeared with the correct post codes that I sent earlier today (few hours ago now though). Have you waited for a while before checking the car? I think they may take a some time to come through.

BTW, I did not have to go into any settings and set it up. I'm assuming it's remembered my settings from when I used to use this with the old Google maps.

Couldn't see it on Google maps on my laptop, but when I switched to old 'Classic' google maps the option was there. Haven't checked it has arrived yet.

There is a settings option down at the bottom right to switch between new and old versions

Only way I can get it to work is in google maps classic view. Sent it to car and it was there 5 mins later.

Confirmed (at least in the US), Google maps send to car is back! For android there is an app called "send to car" (its not just a clever name) that I use. You just select "share" in Google maps and select the send to car app and the address was in my service messages when I got in my car like it used to be. Send to car on Google maps on the web is also working again.

Was a bit paranoid previously, that you could send locations to any bmw account anonymously.

Well more worried that you could get spammed with crap.

Works very well for me, in fact so much so I rarely ever put any details in manually.

It's been available with the Classic google maps for a long while.

Although its been available for a while, there's been a bug on google's end for the past 6 months or so and it hasn't worked (in the states at least).

I wouldn't say I prefer it. Sometimes I'm on a computer when I'm searching for things, although it's easier to find what I'm looking for on full blown google maps than the bmw app. business addresses and POIs etc etc.

Well it was useful, but now you have to be logged in and have it setup. But it was handy for other people to be able to send an address to me via googlemaps.
