Magnaflow Exhaust and average MPG drop

Hi Guys,

I replaced the factory exhaust with an aftermarket muffler from magnaflow. However, I am noticing poorer average fuel consumption by 3 MPG. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Does the ECU need time to adaption to the new configuration?

I'd be willing to bet your foot got a bit heavier in a subconscious attempt to enjoy the tone of your new exhaust

Not at all. If anything my foot has gotten lighter as i notice the mileage drop. currently averaging 21 mpg down from 24.
