Cannot read coding data after dealer visit
I took my 328i in for routine service. I need to recode my parameters. Almost all of the CAFD files will not read the coding data & give the following error
"File for CAFD xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx not found (C012). I can read some of the files...I suspect the dealer accessed some of the files & changed them. Currently have Esys 3.24.2 & PsDz ver. 4.80 -- psdzdata 51.3 Any ideas? Last edited by scrunner63; 08-23-2014 at 12:06 PM.. |

Likely the dealer updated your car's programming and your older psdzdata is too old. 51.3 works with F020-13-11-504 and earlier.
Check your I-Step, if it's newer you should PM Shawn for the new files.

Should have told them to not do any software updates, etc.

Hey guys I ran into the same issue but thankfully I found this thread and Shawn provided me with the latest version of PSZData 54.3. Here is my issue. I went to the dealer to get my mppk installed and my i-step got upgraded to 14-7-503 which apparently i can code with the newest PSZData but not really. Esys lets me read and code to the car but none of the changes stick. I've coded NTB, KOMBI, REM and the modules will reboot but none of the changes stick. One more thing that I've noticed is my BMW online is gone after my visit to the dealer. Also when I go to ConnectedDrive I can't make any calls for assistant because it says my subscription has expired. I am not sure how both issues might be related and if it's an easy fix on my part. I don't feel like going back to the dealer and driving an x3 again. My back still hurts from those benches.

The reason your changes are not sticking is because you are incorrectly hitting the CODE button instead of Code FDL.
Your Connected Drive is an entirely different issue. Go to iDrive Screen and update your Services and it should start working again.

Ahh, thanks Shawn. I know it was midnight when I was trying to put my changes back on but I didn't realize it was such a oversight.

Thanks to Shawn I'm back in business with the updated files. I specifically told the dealer not to apply any software updates. They reset the brake pad mileage & performed the brake fluid flush. The end result was updated STEP files.
Now that I've gone through the process, I'll know what to do the next time I visit the dealer...first visit in 8 months of ownership. The newly added Sport+ tranny coding is awesome! |

I've seen this recently too. Newer software seems to map the m_performance setting to m550d and no amount of tweaking seems to be able to bring back the //MPerformance logo.

Crap. That is what i was afraid of. I hate the BMW AG logo. It's so outdated. Oh well I guess I will have to deal with it or I can switch it to M235. I mean it's only off by one number. lol

Not sure if you guys noticed in the drop down menu 340i was listed. I coded it for the hell of it and M3oo showed up with white label over the oo that said "platzhalter". I guess this is another confirmation that BMW will rename the 2016 models to 340 instead of 335 and will have M340 just like the M235. Anyways I am stuck at M235 logo until next firmware release.

6nh to 6ns error
hello, days ago i vo code 6nh to 6ns in a 2013 m135i trying to get enhanced bluetooth. when i wrote fa in the car and code HU_ENTRY i get an error. now the car loses telephone bluetooth and dont read usb. when i try to change 6ns to 6nh i can't read coding data or code HU_ENTRY there is no green cafd folder on that ecu.
looking for solutions see in a forum this "This problem occurs if the car you`re trying to program doesn`t have COMBOX (CMB_MEDIA) module. By modifying the VO FA and replacing the 6NH to 6NS and clicking on “Code” what you did is you basicly corrupted the CAFD of the module. After getting that error, even the Bluetooth and phone list is now gone from your iDrive menu, so you are unable to use it anymore. You will see that also after getting this error you won`t be able to read the coding data or code the module again, it will be inactive in the SVT or ECU list."(coding10.com) Step 1 – Take a chill pill and relax, this can be fixed easily Step 2 – Remove 6NS from the FA, add the 6NH like it originally was on your car and go to the VCM master tab to write it to the car. Step 3 – Remain in the VCM section and click to Read I-Levels. Write down the I-Level shown. Step 4 – Go the the Coding Section and Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on HU_ENTRY => Click on “Detect CAF for SWE” => Select the CAFD from the I-Level you wrote down in step 3 => Select OK => Right-Click on HU_ENTRY (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE looking at esys in vcm module can't see the read i-levels button only see read and write i-steps, i don't understand what i have to do when they said write down the i level shown and in the step 4 (select the cafd from the i level you wrote). please if someone know how to fix this please let me know i am new in this and i am very worried excuse me for my english :h elp:: bow:: cry: |
