Finally got it
Well, technically got it 2 weeks ago, but finally getting around to posting:
Ordered 3/28/2017 Prod started 4/13/2017 Prod completed 5/3/2017 On way to port (Durban, SA): 5/4/2017 On Dignity Ace: 5/21/2017 Arrived at Port Elizabeth (NJ): 6/8/2017 Work order started (MPPSK w/Carbon tips, Carbon rear spoiler, black grilles): 6/9/2017 Work order closed: 6/19/2017 Released to carrier: 6/19/2017 At dealer: 6/20/2017 Picked up: 6/21/2017 (85 days total for a South Africa build and 5 days before my FS lock would have expired - cut it a bit close). 2017 340i (RWD). Automatic, Alpine White, Black Dakota Leather, Brushed Aluminum Trim, Premium, Lights, Tech, Cold Weather, Driver Assistance, Driver Assistance+, Track, 19" 442s, MPPSK, Black Grilles, Carbon Fiber rear spoiler. Very happy with it so far except for the fact that they didn't install the M Exhaust correctly at the port so it was rattling under the front passenger seat area (already fixed) and I have to do the Teflon tape thing on the Shadow Line door trim because the car squeaks/groans a lot. Even though I gave them the SIB for this they said it didn't apply to my car and just cleaned the seals. $15 for a roll of the teflon tape and I'll just do it myself. I really didn't think I'd like driving this car as much as my 2008 E90 sport-packaged car, but with the exception of the steering (no feedback compared to the old hydraulic system) I think I'm enjoying the car more overall. I've only got 350 miles on it so far so I haven't been able to really rev the engine yet, but the B58 seems to have quite a bit more grunt than my N54 with the M Power Kit. Also, for anyone on the fence about the MPPSK, just get it. The exhaust sound alone is fantastic. If you are leasing, it is a no-brainer (should run you about $2,550 plus the tips). If purchasing, there might be better options out there. |

i don't understand your comment. so that's fine if the bulletin doesn't apply but are they saying they aren't responsible to fix a creaking brand new car? that's silly. i had the same issue on all four doors as is common with the shadowline door trim. they first cleaned it. came back an hour later. they used a bmw lubricant. came back next day. then they replaced all four door guides and finally the silence was back and it has been great for three weeks or so. can't believe a bmw dealer would tell you your SOL basically and not make it right. |

Trust me, I was not happy about this particular design defect and noted it on my first survey under the "car was delivered without defects/issues" section, along with the incorrectly installed M Performance exhaust from the port, which is another frequently occurring issue that should have been stopped by now. If it were something more serious or that I couldn't do myself with minimal effort, I would be making a bigger stink about it. |

Did you purchase from the dealer?
Did you purchase from the dealer? If not, from where?
Just wondering what options I have for my next purchase/lease. Trying to determine if I'll be able to afford a BMW as my next car

Anyone familiar with order tracking....
Production was complete 10/18 on my F32 according to dealer and genius, car still shows that it has not been scanned in at the port more than a week later. Is this unusual??? typically this is a couple day process Every call status has been "in transit to port" so I don't think there is some damage or production error? wouldn't the status change? I find the delay surprising consider the car is US priority 1. Last edited by xlover; 10-26-2017 at 11:25 AM.. |

once the car gets in the US i get the variability when it comes to trucking on US roads but the german side train to port to boat should be a pretty efficient supply chain operation

For all of you that ordered the track handling pack on your 2018 340’s, was the adaptive suspension included in price or an additional $700? My dealer thinks it’s additional cost, I’m pretty sure it’s included am I wrong?
