I post the picture, showing that.
Yes, sadly that is a Trimmed CAFD there.

Hi Seansheridan,

I am just going to start coding my 2014 320ed (it was delivered in June) I am also in the UK. I was wondering if you could send me the files that I need?

I have just completed an upgrade from business nav to professtional and was a lot easyier than I expected (minus a few cuts) but I now need to do some coding.

Also if anyone needs advise on the upgrade I did I am more than happy to help!!

This sounds awesome, and an awesome thread. I'm going to order a cable.

I'm getting a 2015 328i with tech package. Will I still be able to code or will I have the v55.0 Psdzdata problem?

If the F30 is not affected please PM all the relavent links.

All Fxx cars are affected, and yours certainly will be if you have not already taken delivery of it.

You can try 54.1, but if your car has 55.0, you are screwed as there is no working version of 55.0 PSdZData due to BMW AG's Trimming of PSdZData CAFD files.

PM sent.
Is it not possible to inject a previously coded and saved CAFD from a lower ilevel in this instance?

So basically what I'm asking is can I backup my CAFD files now (pre 55.0), and if my ilevel ever gets updated, just inject the old coded CAFD files back?

I would not take coding data backed up from old CAFD A and inject it into new CAFD B as it may not align. You do not know what changes were made to the new CAFD structure.

I've started making my own E-sys ethernet cable. Done with the soldering on the OBD-II connector. But when I started to work on the RJ-45 connector I noticed that I need a shielded RJ-45 connector. I got a normal non-shielded RJ45... Is there any way I can get this one shielded? Or am I best off buying a new shielded RJ-45 connector?

Newbie question

Hey guys, I'm trying to connect my Esys 3.26.1 to my 2012 328i xDrive w/Nav via ENET cable. I'm getting the "No ZGW Available" message. I do not have the ZGW_Search utility that I see referenced in other threads and I'm guessing it's because it was used in the older version of Esys? Any direction would be much appreciated.

You will not be able to connect via VIN unless PSdZData is properly installed, and the Car and Laptop have a connection. For this:

1) The Target Connection Window should not be blank (It should show multiple target connections for different chassis')
2) ENET Cable must be good
3) Car must have proper voltage (Make sure motor is running if car is not on a Charger).
4) Laptop must not have Firewall or any Antivirus software running.
5) PC Lan Adapter should get a fallback IP address of 169.254.xxx.xxx (Make sure it is using DHCP and does not have a Static IP address assigned to it)

Thank you Shawn. I should have mentioned that I have done all of the above already. I see the network adapter link and have verified the IP address via command prompt. Still nothing. Is the ZGW_Search utility required, or am I correct in thinking it's been obsoleted in this new version of Esys?

ZGW_Search is not needed and never was.

Let car sleep for an hour and try again.

Recode after dealer update

Recent brought my f10 M5 2013 to the dealer for coolant issues. They updated my software and now when I was trying to recode cannot find files for HU_NBT, CAS, etc.
I currently have V54.0_PSdZData_Full
E-sys_v.3.26.0

Do I need an update?
My media software is MN-002.052.001
telephone TN-002.052.001
Thanks for any assistance. Last coded car in January 2015.

Haven't touched it since yesterday and just tried it again. Same result. I'm going to test the cable for continuity to make sure there are no broken wires.

Unfortunately your car has 55.0 on it, and there is no working version of 55.0 PSdZData due to BMW AG's Trimming of PSdZData CAFD files.

Reset Windows Winsock as follows:
  1. Type “cmd” in the search bar and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
  2. Right-click on cmd in the search results for Programs, and select Run as administrator.
  3. At the Command Prompt, Type “netsh winsock reset” and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
  4. Wait for the Command Prompt to run through the reset. Once it’s complete, you’ll see the message “Winsock reset completed successfully”.
  5. Restart your computer to finish.

Tried that with same result. Checked ENET cable for continuity and tested good. Any other ideas? I'm running Windows 8.1.
