I feel the same way. In a different thread I said that the msport was a carry over from the e90 series and some guy had a cow. He posted up e92 vs. f30 and said they look different. So I posted an e90 vs. f30....same to me. I just feel that the msport could have been refreshed a little more. Maybe more straight/angular lines rather than curvy. still looks good though hah

I uploaded the video last night. Here's the quickest lap recorded, however, my Harry's app showed that I had a quicker lap in the morning which was almost 2 seconds quicker.

the first shot is badass on 3 wheels, and very risky letting the instructor get that aggressive in your car with no liability.

From the pictures, it looks like the passenger was the instructor. At BMWCCA events, all instructors wear yellow shirts.

I don't know, his quote at the top said the instructor took him for a spin. I don't think I would get that crazy in my $50K car and put it on 3 wheels.

Yeah...his quote on top could be misleading, but he didn't say that the pictures are showing the instructor taking his car out on track.

And for the 3 wheeling in the first picture, it's just a timing thing. That curb that he ran over is a high curb. So when anyone runs over that curb at speed, there will be a brief moment that the front inside tire to get air, and that's exactly the moment the camera captured here. There's nothing crazy going on here. I've done that many times.

The instructor I mention taking me for a spin is a member on here and is the one who told me to come out. He has an f30 sport and i was comfortable letting him take me in my own car. My instructor for the day who rode along with me every session only took the car around for a couple laps slowly to introduce me to the track. That 3 wheel hop was me on the first run just for fun. He said hit the apex hard so I over did it on purpose. Lol.

To clarify...whenever you take your car onto a track, there is no insurance. That is unless you bought HPDE insurance, which I highly recommend. Many insurance policies are so specific that your insurance ceases just by driving on the property - not even just if you are on track. That would suggest that if you go to a race as a spectator and park on premises, and your car is broken into, you might not have coverage. Check your particular policy for details.

BMW CCA instructors all wear yellow shirts and only drive the first three laps of the day. We do that well below max speed just to show the track and point-out corner worker stations. As for helmets everybody has a preference but I personally ditched my full-face helmet for an open face. Since I don't instruct in open cars, there is no need for full face. Also I found that as an instructor I was getting motion sickness so the open face helps me avoid that. Finally open face helmets are lighter which makes a big difference for us instructors who have our helmets on for more of the day than students do.

If people are going to run full face helmets in cars with airbags, be sure to either keep the visor closed or take it off completely. If it is up/open and an airbag deploys, the bag can catch the edge of the visor and injure your neck.

Everybody should come out and do these events with BMW CCA. They are a great way to learn to appreciate your cars. Believe it or not, and contrary to what you read on the forums, these cars do more than just show your emails on the idrive screen and shut off at lights :-)

Track Days are Awesome

I'm not liking the 3-wheel motion, I'm lovin' it. Awesome pictures from what looked like an awesome day. I can't wait to get my 335 on a track or two, especially with the dynamic handling package.
