Anyone able to identify this cable?

I own a RHD F31 and was investigating why the trunk realise wasn't working (button was unplugged!) and noticed this cable (white plug below the OBDII Port) was also not plugged into anything. I couldn't see anywhere else for this to go. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

It probably goes to something that you don't have. It's considerably cheaper to install the same wiring harness in all configurations than to have separate harnesses for every configuration. Someone who does have whatever that's there for might be able to say what it is.

That type of connector says 'antenna' to me, but I could be wrong. There are many antennas in these cars, so it could be for a feature you don't have.

Thanks guys. I thought it might be for something not used. On my E46 extra plugs were usually cloth wrapped which is what threw me!

Beginning March 2008 production, BMW began building wiring harnesses specific to car order. It's unusual to find unused wiring/connectors in newer cars.

I'd check with stealer or do a search on www.realoem.com

Mine has a few in the trunk, probably audio related.
