That is unacceptable. I prefer 1/2" gap.

That is not true.

I just find it fascinating how many people are interested in my Gran Coupe. And the majority of the drooling onlookers are E90 and F30 drivers. As a previous owner of those two rides I know exactly why they are so attracted to me.

Love the 8 Series. To me, the Gran Coupe has a lot of its DNA, I think that's why it subconsciously commanded me to buy it instead of the Convertible or the Sedan.

Just my personal experience , Xdrive 435 needs to be dropped, it is pretty high tho and I hated it. That is why I am waiting for some lowering options. Who said factory lowered, maybe for non Xdrive version, mine is with DHP, drives great, just for the look is ridiculously high. 18 inch wheel 225/45/18 winter tries

Drooling onlookers.......massive ego. Massive. Hilarious.

The Gran Coupe is 2" lower than the Sedan, and the Gran Coupe ground clearance is .5" lower than the Sedan. It's .5" wider and sculpted to look even moreso. The overall effect is that for those used to the F30, the F36 is dramatically lower, one towers over the F36 and when driving you're sitting much lower.

This wheel gap thing is nonsense. If you want a wider and substantially lower looking BMW, sell your Sedan and get a Gran Coupe, no additional modifications needed.

It's not ego. We don't seek out this attention. E90 and F30 drivers stalk us, ask us questions, take photos of our cars, and make deliberate highway maneuvers to get a glimpse of our Gran Coupes.

These are facts. Other Gran Coupe owners report the same behavior in multiple forums. Not ego. We're not asking for this attention. It's happening naturally. If you find it disagreeable, spread the word, ask the E90 and F30 drivers to cut it out.

All I can say is I had (2) Grand coupe already, a 428i xDrive and just got a 435i xDrive. Both cars have a bigger wheel to fender gap then any other BMW I have owned.

I'm not looking at slamming down the car, I just want to drop the car a little bit to make it look better. I didn't want to start a war between F30 owners or other F36 owners who think their cars are perfect, I was just asking if anyone felt like me.

I'm almost afraid to ask advise on my next mod... I think I'll be quiet for a while!

I was able to order the AC Schnitzer springs from TAG Motorsports in CA, they're a vendor on the forums here.

It's nonsense because YOU don't understand/dislike it? Why do you think rwd with sport suspension sits lower(less gap)?. This cracks me up. This forum used to be the exact opposite. Some of us think the car looks better with less gap. Doesn't make us wrong Joe. Just like color.

I'm not saying either of us is wrong, I'm saying that it's trivial.

The specs between the F30 and F36 illustrate what's really important here- the Gran Coupe is significantly lower where it counts: Body height and ground clearance. I've never met anyone who cares how much dark space exists between the black tire and the black wheel well. Instead I've met plenty of people who are awed by how low/wide the Gran Coupe looks compared to the Sedan. Average people. People who work in my building, people at BMW dealerships, people in mall parking lots. It's a very obvious trait of the car.

To YOU it's trivial . It's like telling someone they're crazy and wrong for wanting aftermarket wheels because they don't like the OEM wheels. Why don't you get that? I guess you don't hang around with many open minded real car guys.

Joe, I'm a big fan of BMW having owed more than 20 of them. The 850 is a classic and trends are not the same now as they where then. The 3.0CS was a great looking car and still is but I would not want to ride on 15 inch wheels on my newer BMW like the.

Having said that, the gap on the F36 is too much for my taste.
