Thoughts on Carbon Black with Coral Red combo?

Hi guys,

Thinking about ordering a 4GC. I generally love the black/red combo, but I am not sure how red would look on carbon black exterior. Has anyone seen this combo in person? I'm trying to stay away from the ivory white interior because I've got little one(s).

Thank you for posting pics of your car. It looks very nice, however I ended up ordering mine in Sapphire Black with Black Dakota. I had a very hard time liking the multi-color interior that M Sport forces you to have (black and red dash, silver trim on dash, doors with silver trim and red leather, red seats, black headliner). My previous car had Coral Red, so it's a nice change for me. I think if the dash was not red, I would have gone for Coral again. Oh well... I'm happy with my decision.

I wish the dash wasn't red also....do feel the red dash makes it a bit to much?

I'm on the fence, the coral pops for sure. Beautiful

I just read that you now have the option to get a black leather covered dash, which also replaces the bottom red portion of the dash with black leather. It's about a $1000 option.

actyually no its not, its the jet black. the carbon is a rare colour that i personally have never seen physically yet. i assume from what i can imagine would still look amazing. but its a choice. i was going to go Carbon but i liked how the black went with the coral

That's because it's not a popular combo (for a reason). I was in the same position as you are now... I didn't find any decent pics... then ended up at multiple BMW dealerships to see Carbon Black in person. Fortunately, I was able to see several 5 series M sport in Carbon Black. By itself, CB it is a beautiful color and reveals a lot of purple/blue when under direct sunlight, but that same double-tone color would not look good with a a red dash/interior when standing close to the car because you're seeing too many colors. I was able to compare CB side by side with Sapphire Black and chose that over Carbon Black. If a superman combo is your thing, then go for it man. Get your windows tinted dark and then perhaps the interior color won't interfere with the exterior color.

By the way, all the CB I have seen in person had black or beige(ish) interiors.

Carbon Black not available for the F32/33 but it available on the F34 with the M Sport line only. Sweet color, but I personally wouldn't pair it with the coral red interior. I'd opt for the light interior on that car.

actually i was planning to order estoril with coral red but my family declined this superman combo i saw carbon black in 5 series with black interior but without seeing it in 4gc with coral red, it's a big risk to take. so i decided to go for mineral grey with coral red.

Does anyone have any new pics of this color combo? Thinking of doing this in the GC .. I could opt for the $950 leather dash to make the front black instead of red there.

Still too much of a superman combo? Should I just go black interior? I'm afraid the white interior just wont hold up well over time.

I test drove a Sapphire Black and Coral Red GC and thought the red looked great without overpowering too much. I am leaning towards Carbon Black with the red, but also keep going back to Oyster or Ivory for the contrast. I don't want to pay $1000 to option off red dash by way of the leather dashboard.
