For Europe CIC, it is PREMIUM 2014-1.

Unfortunately BMW never posts a Change Log or Release Notes for any new map release, so one is always left wondering what specifically was added. We just know more streets and POI's are added, and improvements to the routing algorithm are made. The appearance will not be any different.

It is not a choice you can make. Each car's head Unit can only run one specific Map Type designed for it:

CIC Head Unit = PREMIUM Map = 609 Pro Nav
NBT Head Unit = NEXT Map = 609 Nav Pro
ENTRYNav Head Unit = ROUTE Map = 606 Business Nav
