I have no words. It's basically 328 with little less horsepower. If the engine is exactly the same N20 Twin-power, hopefuly the tuning will make it worth buying. For me atleast

This is a smart move by BMW in the US market. Entry level 323i (E90s) and 320i (F30) have been successful in the Canadian market for quite some time now. These models will appeal to the casual driver who just needs to get from A to B safely, comfortably, in a premium car.

It's REALLY limited on how you can configure it. Only two interior colors, no "lines". The base price is great but I just "built" one on line and it was $45,670!
BASE MSRP $32,550 Mojave Metallic$550 Venetian Beige Dakota Leather$1,450 Dark Burl Walnut wood trim$500 Driver Assistance Package$950 Lighting Package$900 Premium Package$3,200 Sport Package$1,300 STEPTRONIC automatic transmission$0 Heated front seats$500 Navigation system$2,150 Split fold-down-rear seat$475 BMW Apps$250 Destination & Handling:$895 Obviously you could build one for less but it wouldn't be nearly as appealing as a nicely optioned one. (duh) It also looks like even if you get a Nav you don't get an extended display, but I'm not sure about that. It shows that way on the configurator. The coolest thing to me is you get an M Sport steering wheel with the sport package. |

ZPP
I wonder what the uptake on a $3200 premium package that doesn't include leather will be.
Compared to the 328i ZPP, you pay $100 more for 320i ZPP and get the power seats, UGDO, and dimming mirrors that are standard on the 328i but don't get leather. Doesn't seem like a good deal, considering premium has nearly always had leather. I wish that BMW would give us Americans a cloth option for base models. My 316d Germany rental car had perfectly acceptible cloth seats. However, the sport package is a FREAKIN STEAL. All the good bits for only $1300? That's incredible. I'm still not going to get a 320i. Now if there was a 320d...... I can only dream.

I don't think it will sell well in the US. The price difference is minimal, and I don't think the real world fuel economy will be significantly better than the turbo (driven lightly). So what's the point in this market?

I'll only be excited about this if it means they're bringing over a diesel some time shortly afterward. Otherwise this is mostly just a waste of space.

Haha!! This is the entry level in Malaysia. Come with bi-xenon and navi and also electronic seat and other goodies. Priced at $80k.

I did the same build but 6mt and black interior. Then for $400 I would tune it and get an exhaust.
