Downloaded USB map update last night from the Connected Drive portal and can confirm that 2018-1 is now available.

Can you explain where the portal is or how I go about getting it? I have connected drive untill 2020 with usb updates....

You need to log into connected drive which has the link for the download software which deals with the large map download and transferring it to a USB Drive.

I'm still showing 17-2 though

Purchased on Cyber Monday didn't down load until last night and it automatically gave me NEXT 2018-1. I have NBT Pro-nav so maybe not available for Business-nav or CIC?

Same here, and the Mac download manager software doesn't work.

2 year map updates subscription is effectively a waste of money for me.

I also bought the 2 year map updates on the black Friday deal. I'm currently downloading the 2018-1 on my work mac.

Those not getting the latest offered map yet might just need to hang fire, sometime they stagger roll outs to things like this. Especially as it is a 23gb download.

What I do find staggering though is how fucking awful the BMW website is. I've just spent 10 minutes looking for the instruction how to actually put the map on the car/ what to do with the activation code. I know it's going to be reasonably straight forward put it on a USB stick etc, but why not have a simple guide. instead i'm going round in circles and finding pages in German (on the .co.uk site).

I consider myself quite tech savvy, but I can confirm that the connected drive website is a mess. Makes it very difficult for what is essentially a bloody straight forward operation.

Ah, sorry. This morning is my first ever encounter with anything to do with the update precedure. Wasn’t sure there was a difference in this regard.

Totally agree regarding lack of instructions on the BMW website - I resorted to a video on YouTube.

Worth noting that the NEXT 2018-1 download to your PC is 22Gb zipped, but when you unzip to your USB stick it is 31.38Gb. This is too large for the usable space on a 32Gb stick, hence you need a 64Gb stick, but formatted to FAT32.

Exit, login again, now says 2018-1
