Camera system malfunction

Received multiple error messages while parking this evening. The cameras were working both rear and side mirrors for overhead view. Has anyone experienced this before? Should I be concerned?

I had a similar problem with the front cameras. Got the camera malfunction message yet they were still working. Eventually they started glitching and stopped working altogether. The dealer replaced the camera module and then the cameras themselves before discovering corrosion in the harness connectors.

Replacing the harness fixed the problem for good. (Fingers crossed)

Thanks, was hoping it was a one time glitch or something. Looks like I'll email my SA and take it in one day.

Do you maybe know which connector was faulty?

I have been getting that message along with side view camera malfunction and crash detection warning malfunctuion messages off and on for months now. The dealer has replaced the fender camera and cleaned some connectors. I am still getting these intermittently, not real impressed with the BMW electronics at all. Supposedly there is a software issue along with the connector/camera issue. Can't imagine what it will be like when it's a few years old!

In previous visits they didn't notice any corrosion. This work was done last February and I haven't had a problem with the cameras since.

Thanks for the info, I just hit 18k miles so I am surprised there are so many people having issues. My car is garage kept I'm interested to see if there is corrosion.

Once the warranty is up goodbye car!
