Fuel economy expectations

As the title says, does your F30's economy fall below, meet or exceed your expectations?
This poll is open to all engines and F3X models.

My F30 328i unfortunately falls below my expectations at 36-40mpg. I wanted 40-44mpg. Bear in mind these are UK figures, US differs.

335i ...

right now it's below my expectations.... maybe because my left foot is a tad heavy...
I am not sure...

but because it's still the same foot i used to drive with in my 1996 E36 328i,
and it was getting better mileage ...

What kind of mileage are you getting exactly, and what did you get with your 328i?

With all the shenanigans BMW pulled that lead reduced enjoyment of the car it's for sure below my expectations.

My parents have a 2011 528i (240hp N52 inline-6, 8-speed) and average 26.0mpg

I was expecting my 2012 328i (240hp N20 turbo 4, 8-speed) to average 29-30mpg since it's 600lbs lighter and has a smaller engine with more power

I'm currently averaging 26.6mpg after 2 tanks of gas

So Far:

F30 consumptions (15.2 Gallons Full Tank Refill):
Most of the time, i am getting around 275 miles out of a full tank.
Only a few times i was able to go 320 miles out of a full tank.

in Comparison E36 consumptions (15.2 Gallons Full Tank Refill):
after 4 full years of driving it, i consistently get between 285 and 345 miles,
but on average, most of the time, i am getting around 315 miles out of a full tank to practically empty.

not much difference i guess.

F30: 18.09 mpg
E36: 20.72 mpg

I'm getting about 18mpg with a mix of urban, mountain and some highway driving. Not much highway driving at all actually.

2012 335i with 1400 miles, I mostly drive city minus the road trip. Avg 18mpg in city and 29mpg on the road trip. I was expecting a bit more but I'm OK with it - I only got 14-15mpg on my e93. I have a heavy foot.

I was getting about 18.5mpg in my 335i and now I am getting 24mpg with the same driving parameters. About 30% better which I think is pretty good.

Dang you guys getting below 18 must be driving in sport and flooring it a lot

I vary between sport ,comfort and Eco .

I throw it in Eco once I hit highway speeds and mixture of comfort and sport on local roads

I've been averaging 25.9 mpg

Thats exactly how I drive. Keep toggling between the modes. I think the driving modes is the feature I use the most in this car.

I did maybe 40% highway 60% city driving, my mileage is now 9.9L / 100 KM which sucks, though I did have some nice spirited driving sessions for long periods ! Last tank it was 9.7 l100km and the 1st tank was 9.1 l/100km

I did the last weekend 5.5ltr/100km on an 83km highway trip with my 320i F30 but as soon as i drove 6-8km in the city the avg went above 6ltr.

Fuel consumption is better than i expected when the mode is always on Eco Pro and my foot is very gentle with the gas.

i prefer to consume some more ltrs and enjoy it however....

Dont you think it's too low from what the BMW Canada website states?

I was hoping for at least 24mpg. Not that it matters a lot but it would've been nice to see around that figure.

Maybe I need to wait a bit because now I'm at 17.9mpg...
