1st dyno run - update Thurs 6-19 - DynoJet #'s

2012 - 328 - JB4 - ER DP - Injen intake - 50/50 mix - pneumatic WG - Map 7
91 degrees
57% humidity
5th gear pulls

Very impressed with the numbers I pulled today. From the little research I have done the DynoDynamics dyno's seem to be about 10~13% lower than DynoJet but then again every other dyno seems to be lower then a DynoJet so really a DynoJet may just be high, lol. None the less, I'm happy with the numbers

284hp
350ft-lbs.

I've added the A/F chart. It was a little richer then I initially remember but is still in a good range considering the advanced timing. I've also added a data log of my first tank of e85 which was within a week of installing the tune. Data is comparable to what the dyno showed.

I have the pneumatic WG. Yes, 50/50 gas mix with e85 and runnin map 7. This is my daily setup. I baby the car most of the time but like to have that on demand power.

do you think you lost power with the intake? as their is another dyno they reached 300 whp alone on tune with e85 alone

Dyno #'s are very subjective. There are too many variables that would cause a variance in the outcome. Atmospheric conditions being the big player, machine calibration, operator, etc.

If the consensus is correct of DynoDynamics machines having a 10~13% deficiency then that would really boost my numbers but again there are too many variables.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the majority of us here are modifying daily drivers not race cars. Does a +/-5~10hp modification make a noticeable difference in a dd, I think not. And to answer your question, I can't say if it did or not.

Keep in mind the test on the intake was the ER one that is just a filter on a tube right by the block which is a crap design. The Injen intake is enclosed and funnels the air from the front intake tube so the chance of getting heat soaked or less air is non-existence. I would probably bet money the Injen design does not hurt performance. May not help, but by design is a far better intake design-wise than the one that is floating around as having negative effects.

Great, I was skeptical about the intakes till I had the Injen but all I noticed is throttle repose, honestly I can't tell if it's making power or not but I like the sharper throttle much much less lag even if it losses power it makes the car much derivable

yea, when I saw it.. I'm like this is a complete scam for this small tube it's $200 without any heat shield !!

The Injen is quit good, I made a test to try if the heat shield is doing it's effect, I removed the metal cover & drove the car hard then couldn't even touch the tube from it's hotness, then let the car cool & installed the cover back,.. what a difference although it's 2kg heavier and the whole intake is much heavier than stock but I don't mind 3 kilos in terms of sharpness..

I just wish someone would make dyno with every bolt-on alone.

besides my car has the low compression ratio version
I will ask anyway, maybe I will.

Its a lot of work to do that, and a lot of money to test each item independently. Dyno numbers are good to have, but the majority of bolt on parts are purchased for drivers to enjoy the car more rather then see a 10-15hp gain you dont feel.

Hmm based on the dyno, would you guys say it's best to shift before or after 5500rpm? Since both torque and hp begins to fall after 5500

You generally want to shift at a point to where the next gear drops you in right below max output. So the shift point should be after the ~5500rpm

After reading that thread, I am quit curious & worried about losing or gaining hp, on AFE alone it made 346whp & with Meisterschaft exhaust it made 333whp, that's on 91 so it lost 13 whp !! Meisterschaft is quite expensive exhaust.

Something is not making sense to me here. These charts should be in NM and not Ft Lbs. so the claim is 312 whp with

FIRST CHART

"1) BMS Stage 2 Map 2 + ER Downpipe + AFE intake + Meisterschaft Open Mode"

...what am I missing here?
