Biggest rims and tire size for F30 without issues

What is the largest rims/tire size I can comfortably put in a F30 and not have any rubbing issues, etc.?

But I don't think that's without any rubbing though.

i have heard 20" 9.5 in the front, 10 in the back is the best for a F30. Can anyone confirm? I have seen pictures of 11 and its too close for comfort for me

Well from the factory approved wheels sizes are 20x8 and 20x8.5. I currently have a factory oem style 361 set of 20" wheels with tires like new, only about 1000 miles or less. PM me I anyone is interested.

Is it ok to fit the following tires to my F30 328 from

Original spec

225/40 R 19" - Front
255/35 R 19" - Rear

To

235/35ZR 19" - Front
265/30ZR 19" - Rear

Both are on PSS tires. 😋

Thanks,

Cheers

I'm not an expert by any means, but that is a loaded question.

Are you willing to accept negative camber? Not all tires have the same sidewall shape. And most importantly, what kind of ride are you willing to accept?

Personally, I just stole someone else's set-up, so I was pretty comfortable. I also use Michelin PSS, and they are fantastic. Amazing grip, look great and they are quiet.

Also IMO, wheel and tire size isn't the most important thing. It's how you want the whole the wheel / tire package to look.

And, as someone else just said, without offsets . . . the thread is useless.

This may or may not help. I just did some sizing research for my track rims. Though only 18", the information or pics may help to understand clearances.

Here's a chart I did to compare stock sizes with aftermarket 18" rims. I was going for lightweight which is why you see a limited rim selection. For reference, I have the 19" 403M's.

The stock 225/40/19's fronts are 26.1" diameter and the rear 255/35/19's are 26". I only took pics of the front since that is most likely where the issue would be. It looks like you can't go much bigger than a 26.5" diameter tire in front. The tire width will be dependent on your wheel offset but based on the stock 19's, you have about 20mm of clearance from the tire to the strut. Since I was running a square setup, I knew whatever I picked for the front would work in the rear.

Here are pics of the clearance on top

Here are clearances from the strut.

I have 26.8 inch overall diameter with my winter set up, specs are 225 55 17 tires and 17x8 ET 29 wheels all around, fits perfect but any taller than that and you will have problems.

Sorry, I am a total nube when it comes to rims and tires. I wanted to upgrade my stock rims to either 19 or preferably 20 inches and wish to buy them online, but don't know what the correct size is. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great ^___^

There is no correct size. The eternal discussion here is will it rub. First, you have to decide if you want 19" or 20". That's a matter of preference. I feel 20" are too big for my taste. Others definitely make the 20's work and they look awesome. But, I chose 19"s for me.

My set up is M5 Replica rims F19"x8.5" offset 35 tires 245/35/19 // R19"x9.5" offset 38 tires 275/30/19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports with the M-Performance Brakes front and rear (Yellow calipers). For me, I like an open rim so I can see my rotors, calipers, and the barrel of my rims. To me brakes and wheels go hand-in-hand. And I must concave wheels, too.

Total cost (I kinda forgot the exact price) Rims $800 + Tires $1300 + Brakes/"Drilled"-Slotted Rotors $2300 = Subtotal $4400 - $1500 selling my 18" 400M with Continental Runflats = Total $2900.

But honest, some guys here drop $5000+ on a set of DDG HRE's and another $1000 on Hankooks. You gotta think about your budget. Surf the photo forum and see whose set-up you like and PM them with questions. Most people are totally helpful and will answer your questions. Without the help I received here, I know I'd not be as happy with my set-up.

The above is my thought process. I had them installed last Saturday. Here are some pictures.

the m5 wheels look GREAT on EB2 M sport. Excellent choice!

Few Questions:

Where did you buy the m5 rep?

Do you experience any rubbing going 275 on the rear?

Is your car lowered?

I know you 'shopped that but I've actually seen a 6 series on 24's and a 7 series on 26's. I saw a E90 on 22's. It wont be long before we see an F30 on 24's or 26's since 20's fit easily. Personally, I'm sticking with 18's for now and maybe some 19's later on.
