I believe it was a genuine mistake although registering it this year was a bit naughty but i'm really not fused.
That's good. 10 days to go, just enough time for the boys at the docks to empty the ash trays and replace the rear tyres

I would not go mad, but certainly pop over to the dealers in person to speak with your SA. Point out in black and white what you've just over paid and explain it like that. They will resolve for a customer I'm sure. Bit naughty taxing a cat they don't even have on their premises yet I would think?

I wouldn't really go in all guns blazing, not worth the hassle....unless you really need to let off some steam.

EDIT. I had something very similar happen on my actual collection day. I'd paid £1500 towards M Perf kit that in the end I decided not to go with (but now might anyway, another story). Well this was supposed to go into my overall deposit to reduce the monthlies.....and it hadn't. I do genuinely believe its always just a mistake, they're not into blatantly ripping off customers but it happens a lot as they have so many deals on the go. I'd really love to see BMW finance proposals outlined in Black and White though.
Chris you are clearly far too understanding. Stay with this forum a bit longer, we'll teach you to spend more money on new car purchases ( although I think you lead the way in this already), or how to jump to conspiracy theories about being ripped off and gather the necessary lynch mob to deal with this.

I assume you're talking about Rob?

I reached out to him on your recommendation of getting a good deal, left him a couple of messages that I wanted to talk to him and have heard nothing back at all.

I've not even got as far as telling him what car I'm interested in, let alone anything else, so clearly he doesn't need the business that much!

It was the business manager not Rob that sorted it although Rob was present and agreed that the figures looked wrong so in fact backed me up.
I'm surprised that Rob hasn't got back to you as he has always returned my calls and sent me regular e-mails throughput the build process. If you are still interested in dealing with him drop me a PM with you contact details and car details etc and I'll call him straight away.

Glad you got things sorted. Signing the finance deal can seem like a big commitment.

Just relax now and look forward to the car!

Glad you're sorted out. According to their web site, Rob is a business manager unless there is more than one Rob there?

It's not relevant now as I was wanting to do a deal in the final quarter, but it looks like deals just aren't available on the M5 - the best I managed from 3 different dealers was £435 more discount than the BMW financial contributions and that was before talking trade-ins.

I bought my 335i as an AUC from them in April 2014 and my used car sales advisor gave me the name Rob Barnes who is one of the business managers, so that's who I've been trying to get in touch with.

I might try "your" Rob next week, but may not get much in the way of incentives to do the deal with it being the start of a new quarter and new year as all targets they have are a long way off for now.

The yellow M5 does look interesting and unique, but I'm not sure I could live with something that colour day to day.

No debate needed. New cars can be taxed a week before the end of the month, and you can buy/start your tax two days before the end of the month, to start on the 1st of the following month.

Please try Rob Burdis he's been spot on with me and I'm sure a deal can always be done. He's back in on the 2nd January. Are you looking new or used?

New, and I've spotted the 0% has been carried over to the next quarter, so fingers crossed I can get a good deal.
