Michelin Pilot Super Sport Life Span
To the owners of this popular tire, how many miles are you guys getting from this tire before needing to replace it? I'm not planning to take my car to the track. Just using it for daily drive mix of highways and city driving.
Right now i have Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT on 18 inch wheels. |

I'm fairly sure I got two years out of my first set on my 328xi, and I was driving about 20k a year, but I use snow tires, so I'd spitball about 30k or so? Maybe more, since I don't use snows as much now that I'm in PA. I was pretty happy with PSS, and went from my second set of those to the 335 with the S001, and I have to say, I don't like the Bridgestones nearly as much.
Certainly better than the time I bought Conti Sport Contact IIs, which, while fantastic driving tires, only lasted 10k on a 325. Did not make that mistake a second time. That was an expensive lesson in tires. They also handled REALLY badly at the end. The first set of PSS were cording due to a shoddy alignment and they handled really well still! (Don't do that.) |

Although regardless, getting 30k out of PSS is really good? |

On the 328, I was using 17s, I have 18s on the 335. I'd say my driving style is slightly aggressive? I wasn't tracking it, and you can only push a 328 so hard, but I'm definitely a bit more type A, and Philly area traffic is godawful.
Looking at Tire Rack, a square setup for PSS has a mileage warranty of 30k - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ggered%20Tires Which realistically means I probably got a close to 30k on them, so I'd say that's pretty good for a sporty tire. A harder econo tire will last more like 50k to 60k, but you're really not going to enjoy it. |

However, i've been doing some research about Potenza S001, and it doesn't seem like a lot of people are having issue with bubbles...unlike the older gen of RFT. I guess it really depends on your luck with these run flats... |

I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sport on e90. I wouldn't say I drive aggressive either, and never track. The temperature is quite warm all year round where I live. The fronts have lasted about ~15k miles and very close to needing replacing. The rears are still good, i'd probably say they will be good until they reach ~20k miles. No complaints with them, awesome tire. I've had them for 3 years (yeah I don't drive as often as I'd like).

Buy them from a reputable dealer like Costco. As long as there are no issues with your car, ie proper alignment and suspension, they will replace for free if tires don't last for 30k.
