Can you add JB4 to MPPK?

I just got a 2014 335i with MPPK and MPE. The car is great, but it doesn't feel quite as fast as the 135i I had with JB4 stage 2.

Can I add a JB4 stage 2 to my 335i assuming I get a downpipe? The 135i was lighter and DCT and my 335i is a manual, but I'd like to get closer to the pull of the 1.

I'm also considering Dinan, but I think the JB4 has more potential.

Thoughts, experiences? Thanks!

Working on it. I'm trying to convince Terry to release a firmware for the MPPK.

EDIT: Got a response. "The normal firmware works well. But one good option is to just throw
an N55 Stage1 on it. Easy install and nice gains! "

Both the BMS Stage1 and JB4 can be used with the PPK! The Stage1 adds to the PPK curves while the JB4 ignores them when enabled.

Thanks for the info guys.

What are the approximate power gains for each over the PPK?

If the MPPK is a DME upgrade then how does the JB4 disable those features that are mapped?

I (maybe incorrectly) assumed that the throttle mapping/shifts/burbles, etc would stay and you would get that in conjunction with the benefit of increased turbo output, etc from JB4. Would this be more in line with what Mike says about JB4 ignoring the PPK curves?

i had MPPK installed 4 months before getting jb4, when you are in map0 its stock and takes a while to adapt as like as you just installed MPPK, all other maps work fine just like stock ; no loud burbles

Low throttle behavior should be unchanged from stock even with the JB4 disabled.

The is no adaption time when you go to Map 0 (stock) Map 5 has one but can be set with 3 WOT runs from mid 2nd into 4th gear.

No, it does not and it can not. There is no way a piggyback can disable what is programmed into underlying software such as throttle mapping and transmission control. Do you think the JB4 will disable the higher figures in the "sport display", too?

If anything, the "loud burbles" may be the only thing affected. That is simply caused by additional fuel being dumped into the combustion chamber after combustion. This fuel burns off in the turbo/exhaust, causing those annoying burbles which only impresses those who are a little green.

Since the JB4 takes over fuel delivery, this of course is something which is corrected.

More nonsense from you. You've never had to try to "convince" Terry into anything, because there has never been any indication the JB4 functions any differently with or without MPPK. Case and point, the JB4 application for the M235i which essentially comes with MPPK being no different than other 2014+ F-Series N55 applications.

Dinan's whole "stacking" nonsense and delayed release of their product for MPPK had everyone fooled.

Who are the people going to believe, engineers from Dinan, a well known and well respected BMW tuner, or you, some big mouthed know-it-all?

Mods, if you want to give me an infraction, be my guest. I don't care anymore. I've had enough of this piece of garbage talking down to everyone like he's a god.

Off-topic, but why did Mike_L get banned? I didn't agree with everything he said, but he was always super helpful when I needed to know something.
