F80 steering wheel M1/M2 buttons on F30

Can I code the M1/M2 buttons from a F80 wheel on my F30? Would like them to toggle the drive mode (comfort/sport).

I realize that there is a kit to install M1/M2 buttons on a M-Sport wheel but this steering wheel is an OEM F80 and already has the buttons.

thanks

Interesting question.
I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the M1/M2 kit and ask this question - I'm sure they could give an answer.

You still will require the kit. If it was able to be coded the kit wouldn't be a thing.

Two different steering wheels here that kit works with an M sport wheel. I emailed them and they said it doesn’t work on a F80 wheel which already has the buttons. They claimed that the computer in the right side pod is different.

F80 wheel already has the buttons and is coded with the “M menu” under settings.

I believe you will need some coding. Reach out to one of the many coders on this forum and they can help you.

Interesting. So does that mean the kit would technically work with an F8x wheel since the PCB in the left side pod is replaced with a PCB from the kit so it can interface with the driving mode toggle but the PCB in the right side pod which controls media wouldn't work. Am I getting that right?

I have an F80 wheel too but you need the electronics from the M Sport wheel.

The kit essentially turns those buttons into up and down buttons as it just mirrors the drive selector drive on the center console.

The M1 and M2 buttons in the F80 are fully customizable and have a completely different PCB board underneath the buttons.
