It depends on your catback exhaust. Assuming you have a stock catback, it is about the same increase in volume as catless but without adding rasp. Because it is a full 5" cat the volume is definitely noticeably louder. I have a hard time guessing a good number but maybe 25-30%? The burbles and turbo spool will be noticeably louder.

Hello, i just got a catless downpipe put onto my 340i with M Performance Exhaust and both of my resonators deleted and it is ridiculously loud and very smelly. I know that catted fixes the smell issue, but will it reduce the loudness/raspiness that i have right now?

Yes it did.
But I tried a mini-cat and it worked too. It's easier to install and is a bit cheaper.

I'm not sure if they're active on the forums, but they're definitely still an operating business. I've been in contact with them the past few days and I must say, I'm glad I went with them now even more. For those of you who follow my build, I've done some pretty intense things to my car and usually one of the first to jump on new mods and tuning. Well long story short, I burnt straight through the flex pipe on my midpipe over the years and they're going to repair it with a heavy duty flex piece for absolutely no cost in parts or labor. I've owned their cat-back VS-1 for over 2 years now so it's well out of warranty, this speaks volumes about their commitment to their products and their customers and I couldn't be happier!

Pic of the damage (I've asked quite a few other forum members about the condition of their flex piece and nobody has any issues with it, so this isn't a knock on CG at all)

Helli CG,
I went catless DP, loved the performance increase and upshits in sport mode were amazing. Went from the standard "burp" to a loud "FRRAAPP" sorta like the m4 but louder slap you in the face sound. However the toxic smell was overwhelming to say the least so I'm concerned about smell and exhaust sound.

'm intrigued with how the 5" catalyst is higher flowing compared to a reputable catted dp like Wagner, which I'm also considering. Do you have any CFM figures for comparison? Does the high flow catt combined with large diameter negatively affect the catalytic conversion in the long run?
