Would someone share the Tool32 with me? Also does this method clear out the 'shadow' codes as well? Thanks!!

I have no idea on "shadow codes". I never worry about them.

Hi all,

I recently started coding my 2013 F31 330d msport touring and successfully coded a number of the usual items so decided to have a look around the svt at other modules to see what they do.

The car is a good spec with a lot of the options already fitted such adaptive m sport dampers, variable sport steering, enhanced function NBT with BMW assist, adaptive visual pack etc

Cut a long story short I found a function called m_performance_hard and switched it to activ which I foolishly thought may give me another harder damper level above sport+.

After coding it threw up a chassis fault in the check control so I went back in and changed it back thinking that would sort it but the car still flags a chassis fault every time I start it even though that option is now back to nicht_activ.

Any advice how to resolve this or have I royaly ballsed up?

Thanks in advance
Brad.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this didn't work and it still gives a warning gong at start up saying "chassis - drive moderately" 😔

I should add that I saved an original copy of the FA before I made any changes, does that help me? Sorry to be a noob 😁

Does your DME still have its CAFD File or is it missing?

What if any ECU's do not have CAFD, or have CAFD named cafd_ffffffff-255_255_255?

Ok so we are getting somewhere. 2 modules do not have CAFD files. They are:

GWS[5e]
FEM_GW [10]

No, we are not. It is normal for these 2 to not have CAFD as they are not codeable ECU's.

If E-Sys and Tool32 cannot clear error, I don't know what is going on. I would reset all ECU's by VO Coding them with original FA and see if error goes away.

Ah right, wishful thinking on my part sorry. Thank you very much for all your help thus far, it's really appreciated.

So now I should use the original FA file that I saved before doing any coding yes? And read the instructions on how to VO code 👍🏻

Yes, just load original FA, and Right-Click on any ECU you previously coded and select Code.
