Seems to me that "said person" will have to work this out with his/her sponsor.

that's probably form this guy http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=780765,

i guess they were saying hes a kid

sell it back to him for $2500, as a part of contract he probably has to return it, that gives you room to make some money

Yup. Sell it back to him for more. A sale is a sale. No take backs.

Simply not your problem! You bought in good faith and paid fair money for the product. Up to the other party to pay his sponsor back - good lesson for him. If it was stolen property - then that might be a problem for you but this is not the case. In future try to buy from a reputable source.

He rips off the sponsor then sells it to you to make money then says I will trade you for some junk I dont want. That guy is a scam artist. People have been dumping those bumpers left and right for poor fitment. Tell him you will sell it back for $2750.

You need to leave a review of this seller if they are a member of this fourm. Other buyers need to know what kind of seller this person is.

Actually, it could theoretically be your problem if exhaust is considered stolen. That means you're in the receipt of stolen property and you'll have to return it to the sponsor. Then you'll have take the little shit to small claims court if he doesn't return your money to you.

But, it'll never come to that. The kid or the parents will just have to cut a check to the sponsor. Someone paid for that F30, so someone has cash and it's just not worth the trouble.

Simple Breach of Contract.

You can't steal something if you paid for it and have a sponsorship agreement. The OP is not liabled, but the seller has violated his contract with said sponsor, hence breach of contract.

This kid tried to rip me off. He talks crap about the M Performance Exhaust but then wants to buy my barely used (500 miles) for $200 but want to sell me his stock for $400.

You should of seen his eBay account. I remember seeing him posting the bumper or something on eBay trying to sell it. Clicked to see his feedback... Man was it bad. All scam!!! I was annoyed with all his bumper post and car posted.

Wish forums gave users the ability to block and hide all of a members post from threads. Lol.

I don't know the specifics of the agreement. I thought a sponsorship was you got the stuff for free in exchange for some type of marketing benefit. But, it's as simple as this. It has to with who has legal title and ownership of the item in question. If the kid never owned the property, he can't sell the property. That transaction selling the exhaust to the OP, wasn't valid.

And, OP should not contact the sponsor. The sponsor might ask for it back. OP did a value service outing this jackass and getting him banned. Unless he's sure the kid actually owned what he sold, he should probably lay low.
