TIC Charge Pipe

I know that replacing the Charge Pipe on the throttle body side to metal is important, but I was looking to maybe get the Turbo to Intercooler side changed too.

Is the TIC side nearly as important to get changed out to metal, as the throttle body side, or will it be fine with the stock plastic pipe? (FYI I only run a piggyback and may do a down pipe in the future)

Just looking to get everything done at the same time I upgrade my intercooler.

No known issues because the tic is more of a silcone/heater hose but you can upgrade if you want to

No need if you’re not considering a bigger aftermarket turbo. And please go ahead to change your charge pipe before it blow up like mine

So my stock TIC did crack. However I replaced it with another new stock one because the dealer had it in stock and I use my vehicle as a daily driver. My intent was to baby it until I could get a metal one in. Long story short I never got around to ordering the metal one and the stock one is still on there and has yet to crack on me since. Been about 2 months now.

Yeah, the ones in the N20/N26 seem to hold for a bit and not blow off like the 335i, but they do crack after awhile.

Where did it crack?

The 328d uses the rubber hose type TIC pipe too, and stock boost is 26-27PSI. It also uses the rubber hose type on the IC to intake side too.

At the turbo. It is a more flexible plastic ( I wouldn't call it rubber) in the center and hard plastic on either end on my 328i.

Did it look like this? That doesn't seem to match your hard plastic on either end description.

The TIC is a good idea if you are doing the FMIC and the Charge pipe.. I wouldn't do it unless you are doing the full FMIC setup as its a PIA if you are not actually doing the FMIC at the same time.

What do you mean the "full" FMIC setup?

I was planning on doing the Charge Pipe and the vrsf street core IC at the same time

That would be Chargepipe, FMIC, and TIC.
