MPPSK warranty question
I had my mppsk install on my 2018 440xi before taking delivery. I know it will be covered by the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty when I took delivery, but will it be covered by the extended warranty? I purchased the BMW 3 year extended warranty at time of sale.
The SA at the dealership tells me it would not be covered past the 4 years. |

I thought it was covered by whichever is longer but I'm not sure as I think it says it's covered by the original warranty or a 2 year warranty whichever is longer but not an extended warranty.

I believe if it was port installed it counts just like any factory option, not aftermarket, so if the extended warranty would cover the exhaust system then mppsk should be covered.

I was under the impression that in California there is a separate emissions control system warranty that is for 7 years, not sure if that would apply in this case.

Simple solution - read your warranty documentation. I have "gold" extended warranty, and I have a document that details what is and what isn't covered.
That said, there's no reason to think that an OEM BMW option or part would not be covered by your extended warranty.
