Definite the positive I took from the experience, if any at all!

Are the coupe seats compatible with the F30 Sedans?

From the pic of the interior, I just noticed an airbag near the driver seat. Was this from within the seat or the door sills?

Also in terms of reasonable offer, I'm not sure on the prices either as it's not a common item listed usually. Maybe we can discuss it via PM on the prices.

I guess I need to clear things up. The car was insured comprehensively.
I was t boned at an intersection by another vehicle, not at fault. Police was close by at hand I was tested minor DUI hence the lack of coverage.
20/20 hindsight none of this would've happened but as it stands I need to do what I can.
So you can see I'm in a bit of a pickle the only way to get money back is through civil litigation which is a costly and time consuming process; appreciate all the help guys[/QUOTE]

Before you do anything you need some good legal advice right now. This could be easy or complex. Best to know which and it may impact what you do with the wreck.

Sorry to hear. What a difficult situation to be caught in. Not that it makes much difference, do you know if the at fault party has insurance?

Sent you a PM.

If you are willing to do a bit of work on the car and cant find anyone to offer you more than 20k, you can slowly pull the car apart and sell parts. Find the parts online from places like the states and UK to give yourself a rough estimate of the price. Everything can be sold such as first aid kit, speakers, sub, CIC, nav screen, Head Unit, lights around interior, engine? intercooler? brakes? headlights? left fender? left door? 2x wheels?

Good luck with the sale

I reckon you might get more at auction.

Good luck

Hi There,

I would suggest going to Manheim Fowles (google it) to auction the car as an alternative to Pickles Auctions. Both are good though,

You basically set a reserve price (say whatever forum people are willing to pay) and then put it up for auction. From memory there's a listing fee of a few hundred but they don't charge anything else unless the thing is sold.

Given that you are in trouble anyway I would also calling wreckers for a repairable writeoff with engine damage, buy that, and transfer your engine to that car. Most likely you would need to find a 3 series sedan as the 4 series just came out and there wont be many written off.

Its going to be a bit tough to find one but you have a chance of walking out with a complete working car.

We used to do it with our honda "race cars" (not really) all the time.

If you're telling the truth, then that's a really horrible thing to have occur. Personally I'd be on the phone to the insurer trying to work out a deal- esp if you have other policies with them etc

I've heard that insurers have been pretty stern on DUI.. They will make it absolutely hard to make a claim. Legal advice may cost round 5-10k but worth it. Hope things work out mate

I don't think I fully understand.

The other party was at fault? They had insurance?

If so why are you not covered regardless the DUI.

Why not have the car repaired? I know people here who buy cars like that a fix them and they look like new, Source parts from ebay, they are starting to show up, if you can find a good indy shop with reasonable prices it might be your best option.

I would either sell it piece by piece $20k is a joke you would get that for the engine and gearbox I would reckon. Or I would get a personal loan if you don't have the cash fix it and either drive it or sell it. You could also fix it without the airbags and turn into a race car and sell as a race car. Just options

Rear ended a car today ( first accident ) its gotta be my fault but I tried my best to go from 95ish to 10-20 kms or whatever the other car was doing in the right lane of m4 as it braked to avoid a car in front and just missed hitting it.I Probably didn't do a good enough job but luckily every 1 was 100% OK and personally didn't feel anything more than a jolt so pretty happy with BMW there. no airbags etc deployed and not sure about the speed either but if any1 can tell the speed from the impact go for it my guess is around 40km/h.Both cars were drive-able, mine is awaiting towing to bmw sometime tomorrow hopefully.

That's some serious damage, might take a few weeks to repair. Luckily everyone's safe, that's the most important. Had a near close encounter myself today.

Sorry about you car man.
I saw ur car a few months ago at wilsons car park, i took a picture of it and sent it to my friend lol (i remember ur number plate...i think)
Look man from what you said above id say the insurance is finding a way to screw u over, if u wernt at fault then it doesnt matter, id say get urself a good lawyer and take it to court.
OR
sell if at pickles auction like someone said above
OR
Keep the car at home, sell it of bit by bit, which will be extremely ANNOYING , especially people just enquiring and not really wanting to buy...and u have a whole car to sell lol
best thing to do it auction it of and take your loss(if not getting a lawyer and fighting it)
GL bro
