Is it worth 'unlocking' Sports + mode? F30 316

Hello,
Appologies if this was already discussed.

I have a 2013 i316 and when visiting an indipendent specialist garage I was offered to re-program the car unlockign the Sports+ mode and other options.

I enjoy driving in Sports mode but not sure if I really need the sports+, as far as I understand this basically makes the throtle even more aggresive (it's a 1/6L engine, how aggresive can it be?) and Also disables lots of the driving safety aids - which I'd like to keep turned on.

What do you think?

Lastly, can this reprograming go wrong? Would BMW fix it if it did? The car is out of warranty. Can it lower it's resale value?

Your thoughts are appreciated,
Thanks!

Sports+ is the same as Sport...the only addition is that it disables traction control.

the throttle is already more sensitive because of sports mode.

Yes programming can go wrong, it can brick your car if you do something wrong. Something like this wouldnt put your car at much risk...unless the garage is planning on doing more work. BMW will fix it for you...it will cost you a lot if you're out of warranty

You can always revert to the default settings. So I wouldn't worry about bricking.

Thanks guys.

I was told this update could open up many other settings in the car, is it true?

If it's the same as sport (with SDC off) than I won't bother.

Thanks!

I don't know what a 316 is but I the 328 and 335 sport+ actually makes the throttle even more sensitive than sport. Too sensitive if you ask me.

It also turns off dsc and turns on dtc

I would think you'd like it having a 6MT. I drive 99% in Sport Mode. Nice smooth quick takeoffs.
