Exclamation Weird noise at high speeds??

Hi guys,

so I sold the 320d and bought a 330d f31 xdrive. Only had this morning and took it straight out for a drive today. It’s got this really weird noise when I get up to the 80mph mark, it kinda sounds like some kind of fan is turning on? When I let off and let the car slow down it goes away on its own but when I pick the speed back up it comes back? Is it normal for the fans to kick in on this engine and be so loud perhaps?

That’s the link to a little video of the noise taken a little earlier today? If anyone could help me shed some light on this noise it would be fantastic as if anything is broke it can go back to the dealer for repairs.

Thanks guys

Hard to tell from the video, but mine had an issue with the front wheel bearing when almost new which made a weird "hum" sound at higher speeds.

Thanks bud, I’ll pop to the garage later and see if they’ll jack it up and have a check for me.

Might also be a wheel slightly out of balance, out of round, or a tire with uneven wear. Had a similar issue on my wife's car in the 60-70 mph range and it turned out that one wheel was very slightly out of balance. A re-balance fixed the problem.

It just turns out that the guy at my local garage took the car for a spin this morning and the first thing he said is the rear tyres are stepped I’d change them before you do anything else! So the dealer is getting 2 new tyres delivered to me asap so hopefully this’ll solve the issue! Thanks for your help guys 😁
