I would like to ask if someone could post almost a dummies guide to coding the rear camera retro fit. Despite reading various forums I'm struggling.

The vehicle is a F10 with front and rear PDC, it has a factory install combox.

I have copy of esys(token master latest version as of Sept 2015 and his pzds files)
I can read the VA. I believe I have coded 3AG by VO coding.

If any one would be prepared to write a step by step guide for each step/module in order of programming that would be very much appreciated.

How long ago did you order? They're notorious for taking a long time

sh** dude... took ~2.5 months for mine to finally arrive from partsale.eu. they are definitely not scammers, but for the life of me, i don't get their business model and how they procure. It seems a little dicey. Its almost like they have an insider who works at BMW and the guy waits for the right moment... and then.... tada! Not sure why they take so long, but both things i've ordered from them finally did arrive. And it was exactly what i ordered. So at least give them kudos for that...

I placed my order back in February. Last time I asked for an update they offered to refund me but i really want the cable more than my money. They keep saying 2 more weeks 2 more weeks. At this point I kinda want to say screw it with the OEM setup. Does anybody know if the US retrofit cable kit was released yet? Although I have the camera and the control unit I would consider just getting the US retrofit and selling the parts I have on ebay.

F30GTR - cancel partsale and run with the link I sent you to amazon and Kufatec

I had virtually next week delivery, sure Germany to UK. But there are many flights between Germany and USA - I reckon you;d have it in 2 week.
Subject to US customs.....not sure how bad they are.

I ordered my pdc retrofit cable from partsale.eu two months and a couple of days ago. I haven't heard a peep out of them since. Here's for hoping.

I got my pdc retrofit in about 2 months but then I went back and ordered the backup camera retrofit i figured it would take the same but I guess I was wrong.
Squidlyboy, did you get your backup camera retrofit or was it only the pdc cable that you got?

oh, and I just realized their domain is down and email so no emails are going through. Nice

I got both the pdc cable (first order) and then the camera retrofit cable (2nd order). Both took around 2.5 months if I recall correctly. They did the whole next week, next week to me too :-(

Any luck getting through to them? Seems that their domain is still down.

Hi guys,

I am trying to install the rear view camera and I am having a problem on how to identify the right wires (PIN 51 and PIN52) from the SW 54-pin socket, which is connected to FEM A173 8B. I think unless I can pull the pin blocks out of the socket housing, it would be hard to tell.

May I ask what did you do on that? Please let me know!

Thanks a lot,

Simon

pull the blocks out of the socket, it's rather easy.

Rear view camera failure

First of all, I'm so grateful to this thread that made my Backup camera retrofit an adventurous success.

Unfortunately, an error pops up as shown on the screenshot below. What I did was adding 3AG, VO coded HU_CIC, FEM, REM & inject CAFD into TRSVC follow by VO code it.

I did tried to reset TRSVC through Rheingold but to no avail. I had one thought, is ICM ECU related to this retrofit? Should I try to VO code it? Any kind soul able to provide any help on this? TIA...

I have the same error message also. The camera works fine so I just don't pay any attention to that. It would be nice if we could fine a way to disable this warning thou.

I am going through this problem right now - I bought a 2013 F30 a few days a go and realized this error was popping up even though the camera is OEM factory fitted for the model. However, my trunk was a carboin fiber after market. First they tried to reinitialize (code) all the sensors/camera again saying this was because whoever changed the lid didnt do it. Cost = $85
The next day the same error popped up - another auxilary problem with this error are the rest of the sensors, especially the lane assist/blind spot detection eitehr stop working or start going off even when there is no car around me.

So I took it in and now they are saying it is because the bracket that holds the camera in the trunk is broken or lose and everytime i hit a bump or close the trunk, the camera goes out of calibration causing all sensors to go heywire as well. As such, they want me to pay them $500 to fit in a new bracket and foil some part of my carboon fiber lid so they can successfully hold the camera in spot.
I am thinking of picking the car up and working it out my self but i thought i'd let you guys know.

Considering that you have a retrofit, i am guessing the bracket is not holding the camera in spoit.
N if anyone can help me with my ordeal - plz reach out!!! I literally jsut bought this car and dont have the money or time to take this on right now.

Finally, my "rear view camera failure" error is gone!!!
What I did was replaced the pdzdata file from lite to full version and VO code TRSVC.
Keeping my finger cross and hope the error message won't be back to haunt me.

Kfc2, you might want to try it. Go get pdzdata_full from Shawn if you are using lite version.

Hummali, wish I could help you in anyway but I'm from Singapore. Wish you luck bro...

Cheers
Simon

Hi Sii770i7,

Will do! Thanks for the update.

May I ask if you flashed the EUC with new firmware as well?

Thank you,

No, I did not flash any ECU. Just VO code TRSVC only.
