because some think buying a sedan with no cargo capability makes them more like Jenifer Lopez; rich girl sindrom.

It is Carbon Black, dark blue is NOT available with M-Sport (for whatever reason).

Also Carbon Black seems to be the marketing color for the 4GC, like Mineral Grey was for the 4 and Melbourne Red for the 2.

I just wish Carbon Black would be available for the normal 4 (non-GC)
Actually tanzanite blue is available as an individual color with m-sport in europe, not sure if US will...

But indeed right about carbon black on this particular car ;-) There are photo's of a 4 series convertible in tanzanite at the geneva car show, there you can clearly see the difference.

why?

I like BMWs but this makes no sense...why the hell split the 3 series? So you can create this? why not just replace the 3 with this and be done with it...

BMW needs to realize that what worked on the 6 series and X6 doesn't translate into smaller packages. This 435 hatchback is a joke, same goes for the new X4.

I disagree, what worked on the 6 would have worked. That's not what they did. They failed on execution, not the concept. I love the 6GC, but it's too big for my taste. Keep the ratios the same and just shrink it 20% or so and I'd love it. Where they failed is not making the 4GC longer than the 3 to achieve similar lines as the 6GC, which is 4 or 5 inches longer than the 5. Can't just slap a hatch on the 3 and expect the same result...

I wouldn't say this looks better or worse than the F30. I would say F30 looks masculine and muscular while this looks more elegant and grand.

I'll take a 4GC next. Looks beautiful to me.

As a dad in his thirtys this car works perfect for me looks like a coupe yet has 4 doors to please the wife and the hatch to fit all my sons stuff in. Count me as a fan and future owner.

This is why I wanted to love it too. Just doesn't work for me without any extra length. My F30 looks better IMO, but if they stretched the 4GC 4 inches or so, would make it more practical and the lines would look more fluid like the 6GC.

You're kidding, right? JLo is the last person I'd want to look like.

There's something about the current N55 300hp output that doesn't make sense to me in the new models. I guess BMW is keeping this engine for a while.
I suspect the new engine will have an output of no less than 350hp, to make it last against the competition and to make sense against the 330hp variation on the M235i and Z4 35is

Would solve the too short back end of the real GC
that was the original plan, build it on the Li platform so that it did retain the elegance of the added length, ala 6er GC. but something happened and they went in a different direction

Ugh, I am so unimpressed with this car. I wanted desperately to love it but I just don't. It does nothing for me

So what exactly is the purpose of this model? To achieve less headroom for the rear passengers as compared to the F30 sedan?

So can I fit a baby seat in the back? Wanted the 4 series but baby seat issue was holding me back. Think they made it just for my situation lol.

If you can't in the 4 coupe not sure the grand coupe is going to help you. It's not any longer so don't see how it would make any difference. That said, why is it an issue in the 4? I have 2 in my F30, one rear facing, one front.

Is the issue more the hassle getting the kids in and out of a 2 door?

This. I love the 4-series. The only thing that would have held me back is the 2 door. gran coupe I'm hoping would solve that. Space wise, I don't think here's a big difference at the back for 3 or 4 series right?

Right, I believe.. Other than headroom, pretty much the same if I'm not mistaken. Though be careful with that lower roofline you don't lose any teeth getting them in and out lol. I've cracked my forehead once or twice even with the sedan

I really, really like this car. It is a smaller Audi A7. It is gorgeous to me and more practical than a standard 3 series. I had a 135i and it limited how I could use the car. This one is larger but has similar underpinnings to the 135 and people can use the back seat and I can carry a host of different items.

Mostly I do find this more attractive than the any 3 series to date and better than a 4 series coupe, which looks too big to only be a 2 door. This fixes that. IMO.

Now how about the M version....
