Gap in Marine Traffic Coverage
Took it upon myself to call Ship Operations at the Brunswick port to inquire about ETA for the Swift Ace. Turns out the ship docked and left on Monday, yet the Marine Traffic site has no record of the event. So for anyone awaiting West Coast delivery, it looks as if the ship should be heading your way. As for my car, the BMW site finally updated tracking status this afternoon...so finishing touches now and should have my car next week.
Now I just have to hope I don't have any surprises in store. Already told dealer to inspect for seat rust and code the Auto Stop/Start to user last setting. Let's get'r done. |

Just got back from Dealership with my 328, and I'm loving it so far. Can't wait for this weekend when I'll take it on a road trip to really get to know it. Coming from an SUV though, the seat feels like it's really low, even when I fully adjust it upwards. Anyone else get this feeling, or is it just the transition?

Nope got jack shit from BMW Manhattan. Some free water and pretzels, and a thanks for your business. NY dealerships usually don't give out freebies cause they have plenty of clients, and don't worry about numbers/reviews (my CA didn't even give me a survey/review form to fill out). DID get a small scratch on my brand new car . It's the smallest of nicks on the aluminum trim piece right next to the Idrive controls, when I first picked it up I just assumed it was a piece of lint or dirt, but once I hit the road realized it's actually a scratch. Was tempted to go back but decided that tiny scratch isn't worth the trouble.

I've never gotten more from BMW than floor mats (which I refuse to consider a gift) and key chains.
Got all weather mats (as well as the carpeted not instead of) from Mercedes once and a travel mug and hat from Audi. was supposed to get all weather mats from Audi too but they were back ordered. Now, I brought my in-laws and a friend to my CA to get X3's, on top of my wife's X3 and my 335 I hope to get next week. So I am due for a free travel mug or something!!! |

Love me new f30, definetly feels like a grown up 3-Series. The NAV screen is great. I was given a "3" Series key chain and black carpet floor mats, (not sure if they come stardard now?)

FINALLY!!!
Ordered my 2013 Imperial Blue 328i Sport Line on October 30th. It's now January 14th and my CA called to report that I can take delivery tomorrow afternoon.
That's 11 long weeks (my CA projected 6-8). The delay was totally due to my getting a South African build slot...I'll know better next time. The German builds seem to be in the 5-7 week delivery range. My car left South Africa on November 24th and sat on the boat until January 7th. I've asked my CA to check for seat rust (especially with the long time at sea) and will post pics after I take delivery. This is my first BMW so I'm anxious to see how it goes. I've had several Infiniti G's which I've loved, but they were getting a bit boring and predictable. Figured it was time to shake things up. Probably won't sleep a wink tonight. |

Got it
Just drove home from dealer in my new 328i Sport Line. It's pouring rain, so haven't really gotten a good feel for her yet...but she is sharp to look at. No apparant seat rust and they honored the 2012 pricing despite the delay...so happy there was no need for dramatics. Of note, CA never told me that the test drive we took had enhanced bluetooth...learned only upon delivery that I can't use bluetooth to stream my playlists off my iPhone. At least I can use the supplied Y cable, but seems like a slight oversight. Other than that hiccup, all is well. Will post pics as soon as sun comes out. Yay.
