Broken fog light
Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me source a replacement front fog light. The dealers all want silly money for a replacement unit so I turned to eBay as many of us do. The issue is there are literally too many options to choose from. Starting at around £25 and going up to well over £100. This is my 3rd 3er (E46 & E90 previously) and I've managed to break fogs fairly regularly on all, likely due to the motorway mile munching. I've usually just bought OEM ones from the dealers in the past as I didn't skimp on buying the cars so why do it on parts. However now I've become part of the forum community I thought I'd ask around to see if anyone else has found a decent replacement or even a good deal on OEM ones? Assuming others are breaking theirs as often as I do? I've had a quick search but couldn't find any threads on this topic previously. Plenty about LED bulbs which I'm not too bothered about as I don't drive around with my fogs on all day like the local boy racers. I'm looking at getting the front bumper repainted soon due to some nasty stone chips and lacquer peeling so it makes sense to change the fogs at the same time. Thanks

I found a 2nd hand one on eBay about £60. Cant find a link I’m afraid - maybe it was a car breaker. Bloomin fiddly to fit...

I found a like new condition Original BMW LED for my car for about $50 shipped off eBay which was very reasonable. I searched using the part number. I would recommend getting lamin-x for your headlights and fog lights to protect from chips and such. I did that to mine. Very easy to install and can't even notice them on.

When fitted & in place, you'll not even see it's there.

Not urgent as it's been broken for a while and likely won't paint the bumper until around Xmas time. I'd be happy to buy yours from you if you're changing them out?

On a 335d yes with coding, wheel off, wheel arch liner totally removed, oil cooler loosened, cooler ducting loosened, horn moved, trim filed down around the existing fitting, lots of scraped bits of hands and plenty of cursing
Omg, the new units so much bigger and really was a total pita to fit. Near side complete piece of p! Will pm you James when I get some pics of old ones. |
