New mod recommendations?

Can anyone recommend some nice performance mods for my F32 428i that don't cost a whole lot? Like little things that I can install myself. I was thinking about an Injen intake and I heard that it adds about 22 WHP. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Performance-wise, I already have:
JB Stage 1 tune
H&R Super Sports
OEM 435i exhaust

I can most certainly tell you that the Injen intake will not add 22whp, or even anywhere close to it. An intake on these cars is mostly for noise and don't produce any significant performance increases. Your best bet at this point is to upgrade to JB4 and get a catless downpipe. These are both not simple installs, but they are your only option for more power at this point.

Add DP for most power gains
Evolution Racewerks Downpipes is a very good option

Thanks for the replies, are there any smaller mods that perhaps increase air flow or just help the engine run smoother overall? Thanks

Anything you do to the intake won't really increase performance at all, and it won't really help your engine "run smoother". If you want better cooling then you would have to go for a bigger inter cooler, but once again, that's a pretty serious mod.

BMS stage 1. $375, easy to install and makes the N20 feel like an N55.

Yup I can confirm the intakes do nothing but noise. I had the Injen and it was a nice piece visually and good sound, but does nothing to add power. The tune with a down pipe like the others seems to be the way to go. The only problem with a down pipe, the CEL light will come on with a stage 1 so you would need to get the JB4 turn it off. Then if you get the JB4 then you have to tap the CAN wires which can cause a problem if you ever needed to take your car into service under warranty and they spot the wires tampered with. Slim chance, but still a chance.

Once you are FBO the open intake is a must .
It will not add noticeable power like the JB4 or DP but if you take your car to a Dyno and compare stock vs open intake you will see a good 5 - 10 whp increase

Yes I would agree with that if you go FBO, but he's just talking a stage 1 and exhaust, not FBO.

Agree, thats why i said DP.
But i was replying to your comment about the intake being useless for power gains by just clarifying that it is only useful if you are FBO.
i think we are in agreement.

Alright guys thanks, i'll probably go with an ER catless DP and stick with my stage 1, I'll try to see if I can get the CEL cleared.

Would advise to upgrade to the JB4. Not too difficult to install
