Fuel

Hey guys...
So some guy in my neighborhood got a C43 and we were planning on racing a 1/8...
The only things ive done to my car is the BMS intake and the JB+..
I'm more than likely ill win him but i was wondering what fuel to use? I use 91 (cause thats the highest grade i can get in LA), but i was wondering how to mess with the racing fuels and the different fuel qualities and stuff so i can have yet another advantage...

Find a e85 station fill up E85 for 4 gallons and 11.8 gallons of 91. it's basically a mix and will put you around 96 octane so basically race gas. E85 is about 2$ a gallon. That's a e30 mix. Call around arco or 76 they have e85 only put in 4 gallons no more than that

Will that mess up the timing or anything of my car in the long run?

4 gallons is a lot for this motor.
You deff need FF wires for JB4 if gonna run e85. 2 gallons you see some results. Unless running meth or some sort of other extra fuel e20 blend is the most.

If you want to run fast the best thing you can do is run as low of a tank as possible to reduce weight.

This, get all the extra weight out of the car. Don't have an extra passengers. If a cameramen must film something have them ride the other car or use a go pro attached to the vehicle. Don't bother with e85 that's what poor people use, just add 100 octane. Good luck.

Just throw in 2 gallons of e85 and the highest octane you can find you shouldn’t ever use less then 91 anyways

They trap 109mph stock from what I seen on the track, and they do it pretty consistently.

Some people on here are giving you some really bad and dangerous advice... DO NOT put 4 Gallons of E85 without knowing what your AFR is. This platform above 2 gallons you need to be caustious and monitor your trims and AFR.

and 2 gallons of E85 will get you to about 93 octane - useless... IMO..

You want to win, get Boostane octane booster.. its expensive but it will get your octane to 96+... or even better find some unleaded race fuel - you can put that in straight.

Octane is king on this platform - without it the DMU retards timing even in light of increased boost. And yes, some have even seen lower performance with the JB+ - because of not enough octane to support the boost levels.

Get JB4 if you want to really see what the car is doing and properly tune for the conditions (IAT, Octane, etc.)

People are confusing octane with energy. Higher octane isn't power, it's the reduction of the tendency for the engine to detonate. It's used to counteract detonation when running high compression or high boost. Extra timing doesn't give you extra power, nor does extra octane. If the engine is close to detonation, the higher octane will prevent the DME from retarding timing (which is a reduction of power). There is no free lunch here.

E85 is VASTLY lower in energy than gasoline (around 25% less power). The only way E85 does you any good is you need to crank the heck out of the boost to compensate for the lower energy in alcohol vs gasoline.

Octane boost is a gimmick. One bottle raises your octane 0.5-1.0 points. Cheaper to buy premium than waste your money on those little bottles.....
