Let's play a game called "How fucked is my F31? "
My car was parked in front of my house yesterday when a girl who wasn't paying attention slammed into the rear passenger side at an angle. She pushed my rear wheel forward in the wheel well almost two inches and gave it ~10 degrees of camber, while doing a number on the rear quarter panel and scratching the bumper cover up pretty good. I'm curious how this might impact the xDrive system, if at all? It's currently sitting at my body shop going through the estimate process, but I'm curious of some of the resident expert opinions around here as to the extent of the damage.

Thanks, it's with a good body shop who has done good work for me before, so I'm not too worried. And I have a Bitchin' Camaro (RS) as a loaner car, so I don't mind too much.

Nothing should be wrong with the x-drive system but you will likely need some new suspension components. hopefully it didn't bend the mounting points for your subframe or shocks.

Doesn't look too bad, assuming mounting points weren't messed up as kern417 points out. Probably need a bunch of new suspension parts for that wheel and a little body work, but otherwise not terrible. Ask your body shop for an alignment printout afterwards for peace of mind.

This is a long shot but tell them to replace rubber bushings on the driver side rear. If they are replacing the pass side the driver side should be replaced for "safety".

Looking at the wheel, I would guess that suspension mounts are bent. I would also look at the driver's side mounts. It was hit fairly hard to move the wheel that much.

This is one game that I'd rather be a spectator and not a player. Hoping for better luck for both Bad Karma and luckyyyyyyy!

Looks to me that it just blasted through the available camber adjustments, and probably did some bending along the way. But, I don't think it would take much of a hit to get a wheel looking like this.
