I think this story only saw the light of day because of the douchenozzle ex-Taco Bell exec's assault on another Uber driver (which he is now suing the Uber driver for damages BTW).

In this case there was very light assault and damage done (I assume his door was already dented). It's pretty sad she thought her career was worth a $20 uber ride. This also reminds of why I never surround myself with angry drunks.

I watched again with sound. Give her a ticket for littering and get it out of national news. No reason her career should be over.

The whole thing still reeks of some bullshit. Why is there a start / stop in the recording after he pushed her to the ground? Why didn't he just drive away before she got in the car. If that's him walking after her at the end, why? Plenty of opportunity for driver to just leave but he didn't.

I kinda hate what the news has become. We all know where to find social media if that's what we want. It's the blending of actual newsworthy reports and social media into "news" I don't like. For the most part, I usually don't care what some drunk a-hole did, I've seen enough cute things done by kids and pets and don't care what anyone tweeted. None of those topics should be reported as news IMO.

The local news stated that the Uber driver pulled up to pick up another person at that location and "she" insisted that he take her instead. That's like jumping into a taxi that someone else has hailed down, have seen how that plays out lot's of times in NYC and it was never pretty. Same here, I don't blame the driver for this one either.
