Still have questions about the 2012 BMW 3 Series (F30)? Ask us.
BIMMERPOST NEWS Still have questions about the 2012 F30 3 Series? Ask away. Undoubtedly, the most important debut for BMW in 2011 was the new F30 3 series Sedan. BMW pulled the wraps off and published the first info on the new 3 back in October (see our official info thread HERE). As with any new model, some of you have questions that haven't been answered by the official materials. We've been trying to cover and answer most your questions so far but, despite our efforts and our guide of the different design lines HERE) you may still have unanswered questions regarding the new F30 3 series. Well, here's your chance to have any remaining questions answered. Ask your question(s) below and we'll get you an answer from BMW in the coming days (assuming the question can be answered currently). Please try to focus on questions that haven't been answered yet in the official F30 info thread, F30 lines guide, or US ordering guide. P.S., please don't ask about pricing. That will come from BMW officially in due time. |

I hope to find out pricing, and building information in the coming days...just waiting to place my order.
Also, does anyone know how much BMW asks for a deposit to order a car? I think its like $500 but im not sure.

As the posters above me, will US/Canada be getting diesel/more diesel options (i.e. 320/330d) as well as a 6MT option? Touring? xDrive? If so, before or after the LCI refresh?

Will the xDrive model have an available sport suspension?? I really hope so as every other major competitor has a dedicated sports suspension for their AWD models including Benz, Audi and Lexus..

Questions
1. Will the Xeon lights come as an option for the 328 or standard?
2. Has BMW changed the way the lights are operated. Specifically, only coupes have the "ring-formed" lights and the sedan has a ring and a solid light shape. 3. Sun-shade option? 4. Standard sonar parking assist? 5. Official EPA? 6. Wood trim won't be standard on the 328 like it has been? 7. Value package still available? 8. PLZ PLZ PLZ, BMW, fix your GPS. I live nearby NYC and I have driven a 3 and X5 for a long time, both generations of Navigation systems: the current and the previous one. And trust me, a 100 Tomtom worked better for me. BMW GPS cannot pinpoint any address on a highway. For instance, if I am looking for 1750 US.1, then after typing in US.1, the house number region turns gray and you are unable to access this option? what is the point?? The Lexus nav, although as much lower resolution and looks kind of cartoonish, works every single time. I hope they have updated their system. 9. Bluetooth audio streaming? 10. What if I don't get the premium or any package, will I still get power seat? But overall, f30 is a worth the waiting! |

Is the wagon coming to the US?
Please tell me Audi won't have the only semi affordable luxury wagon in the states.

Thanks everybody, keep the questions coming.
Two things we know already: xDrive will be available in summer 2012, presumably as of the model year switchover in July 2012. Quote:

In case keyless start fails you put your key near that symbol and you're still able to start the car.

it depends on dealer to dealer and the options you decide on. If you order a really really unique car, the dealer will most likely ask for must just in case you back out and they are stuck with it lol
