In the Peoples Republic of California, a state within the United States of Socialist Republics (aka USSR) yep, you pay taxes on the unpaid amount which is 10% for me.

You can definitely get off 10 percent of the MSRP. Make the sure the MF is .00137. Dealers will make you use MSD to get there which I believe is a rip off.
So there is no way to start at .00137?

At what point do you tell the sales manger you want to lease? I'm doing a deal right now on a 2016 340i MSRP is 58,252, its listed for 54,455 I'd like to get it under invoice if possible. Do I make the deal on the car 1st? Then talk about the lease? I plane to buy 7 MSPs, and will have a 1500 USAA rebate. Is is possible to talk them down to the base MF before I buy MSDs?

I would print out a lease calculation with everything you want (years, miles, MF, msd, sale price) and hand it to him.

You don't have say "I believe" because it is a ripoff. Base MF has nothing to do with MSDs.
MSDs are a tool for the customer to lower the MF even more. If you have good credit, you should fight tooth and nail for the base MF.

Yes you can start at the base number. Just tell the dealer you want the base MF as part of the deal. If they balk, then you can walk or some will push the purchase price down low enough to cancel out the difference.

Not sure for F30. Most F8x owners would offer invoice +$1000-$2000. Some were even able to get $500 or less over invoice.

YMMV, but you should check the name your deals thread to see what the average is.

I have a 2013 335XI M-Sport on lease, with the lease expiring in about 8 months (end of April 2017). I am seriously considering buying this car back because of the (OEM) modifications, mileage, etc etc. I called BMW FS and got a payout quote. I asked about how to discuss the buyback price, and they said to contact my local BMW dealer. Having done this, the dealer told me that: 1- the buyback price is 100% NON-NEGOTIABLE (even transferred me to a manager who confirmed this -- in a very angry tone, like I was wasting his time), 2- in addition to the buyback price + tax, there's a $1000 extra fee that they will charge me to purchase the car off lease. Is this the $795 payment that is mentioned in the FAQ at the top of this thread? I remember reading in multiple places that the buyback price is 100% negotiable. Is this not/no longer the case? I am in Canada... wondering if things are different here than in the US.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Canada may make things different but the buyback price is negotiable though not in the traditional sense. BMWFS will occasionally lower the payout, but usually what happens is the dealer thinks they can sell the car for more than the buyout and they buy it from you for less than the buyout. In this scenario the dealer still pays the full buyout to BMWFS, they make money by selling it for more than the difference between your price and the buyout. Dealers will do this for popular models or hard to get models because when you turn in a leased car that dealer doesn't automatically get it, BMWFS does and they can do what they want with it.

Hello everyone!

Really appreciate all the detailed information OP! Would someone mind helping me out (actually for a friend) that was quoted these numbers for a 2016 340i in CA.

Msrp: $55,845
Invoice: $52,050
MF:0.00136
36M/12K - $515 per month (taxes not included)

Not sure if this is enough information to find out if this deal is okay? I've never leased a vehicle before personally so I can't give advice... not sure what the sales price on 340's are currently against msrp or invoice but I'm assuming the sales price will be at invoice. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance

Not enough info. You would still need to confirm they used a 61% residual and that they aren't adding in a lot of bogus fees. With what you have provided it looks like a good deal. The other thing I don't know is what is the current negotiated price for the 340. It could be below invoice.

Thanks for the quick response OneRib! As for the residual this is what they quoted:

63 - 10k
65 - 12k
66 - 15k

This was copied and pasted message from the dealer. I'm not sure but based on reading this thread seems backwards right?

Any other figures you would recommend I can ask for?

Really appreciate your help once again!

Definitely backwards and not accurate current residual for Sept

Sept Programing
2017 Models

MF. .00136

All 3 series including M
36 mo
15k 59%
12k 61%
10k 62%
1000 option allowance

They really need to clean that up because if they used those numbers it will lead to an "oopsy" correction at signing that will raise the monthly amount.
As for fees, they should be able to give your friend a full fee breakdown. Then examine them and look for shady markups. Some states have set fees. You friend can look that up online.

Wow.. how do you know the September numbers? I'm on the way to the dealer to meet him up now (someone has to drive the old car home lol) and will use your advise on breakdown of fees.

Will post back on how he does after.

Thank you OneRib

Mjosh There is a lease rate thread in the F8x forum. It's probably the most active section of the forum in regards to pricing and lease rates. It's published every month by an employee at Steve Thomas BMW, so the numbers are legit.
Here's the link.

Let me know how you guys make out.

Dealer's first offer- Feedback appreciated!

Hello Everyone!

I ordered a 2017 F33 440i that is landing in Cali on 11/4.
Attached are the car specs, along with the deal the SA offered.

FYI, we turned in our Z4, whose lease ended 10/31, and were given a loaner until the F33 arrives at dealer...nice perk for a repeat client, yes?

Even though this is a 2017 that is not on the lot, I still feel the MF needs to be at the base rate and the sale price can come down a bit. Also, should we apply the remaining cash deposit to an MSD?

Your feedback is appreciated!

Yes, the MF is jacked up as high as they are allowed. You need to get the base rate. They may be playing with the numbers by giving you a good discount on the MRSP and making it up on the back end. I'm not familiar with how aggressive 440 verts are priced, but I will say that unless you are saving thousands more than everyone else, you need to get the MF lowered.

Does the buyout amount include sales tax or does that have to be done at the moment you register the vehicle after you buyout? Florida dmv to be specific.

Garage List
Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been answered already, but there's a lot of pages to look through, so hoping someone can answer my question off the top of their head.

I'm looking to see what fees would be due if I turned my lease in early?

I have the Owner's Choice, and it matures on November 29, 2017. I won't be leasing or financing another BMW, so for example, let's say I turned my car in this month. Would the amount due just be the remaining 3 payments, plus the disposition fee of $350? Or are there extra fees for terminating the lease early?

Thanks in advance!
Justin
